Guwahati: The people of the Northeast were insulted by another leader of the INDI Alliance. Following Congress politician Sam Pitroda, RJP leader Tejashwi Yadav has offended the people of the region with his racial remark against the chief minister of Assam. Former Bihar deputy chief minister and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has criticised Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, comparing him to a “Chinese version of UP CM Adityanath Yogi” who is after “cheap popularity.” He did this by eliminating the two-hour Jumma break for Muslim legislators in the Assam assembly.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh responded sharply to the disrespectful remark made by the RJD leader, accusing the INDI Alliance of being a collection of illiterate racists with no knowledge of the geography or history of our nation.

“It seems that the INDI Alliance is made up of a bunch of ignorant racists who have no knowledge about the history & geography of our country,” he stated in his X handle. Sam Pitroda was the first. These days, Tejashwi Yadav is the one who discriminates against Northeasterners. “It is unfortunate that a political leader like him has resorted to calling Assam CM, Shri @himantabiswa ji as “Chinese” just because he is from the North East.

We are as much Indian as the rest of the country and we don’t need to prove this. However, this racism of the INDI Alliance towards the North East must be stopped once and for all”, CM Singh wrote.

Meanwhile, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma responded to the RJD leader’s statement concurrently. Yadav was advised by CM Sarma to live up to his words. Inquiring as to whether such a practice exists in Bihar, the chief minister of Assam questioned Yadav’s comments, stating that Yadav ought to have instituted a four-hour break during his tenure as deputy chief minister.
