Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi lambasted West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee for her anti-national and anti-Odisha comment , amidst the escalating tensions surrounding the horrific rape and murder of a young doctor in the neighboring state.

Taking to social media platform X,Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Majhi fired back at Mamata Banerjee, asking, Who gave you the right to make such objectionable remarks on Odisha?

“Odisha is a tranquil state with responsible and informed citizens, who will not tolerate your hateful stance, negative remarks, and insensitive behavior towards our state,” Majhi asserted in a post on platform X.

CM Majhi rebuked Mamata Banerjee, saying, ‘Without ensuring justice for the victim of a horrific crime, your comments are not only inappropriate but also pose a threat to national unity; I implore you to refrain from making such inflammatory remarks’.”

It may be noted that while addressing the student wing of TMC, Banerjee on Wednesday said , “Remember if Bengal is burnt, then Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Delhi will also be burnt.”

Chief Minister Mohan Majhi has also commented on President Droupadi Murmu’s reaction to the recent incident involving a female doctor in Kolkata.

On social media, Shri Majhi criticized the Mamata Banerjee government, stating that the President’s remarks on the disturbing incident involving a female doctor in Kolkata highlight the administration’s negligence and lack of empathy. He further alleged that under the TMC’s rule, West Bengal has witnessed a surge in violence and oppression against women, driven by the party’s lust for power

“Despite being a woman herself, Mamata Banerjee has failed to prioritize women’s safety in her state. Her desire for power has led her to neglect women’s security and instead, she is attempting to create divisions in the country. However, this attempt will ultimately fail as the people will hold her accountable for her actions and respond accordingly,” Shri Majhi
