Raipur: In yet another episode of unleashing raw violence against the civilians’, cadres of the banned CPI Maoist have killed a villager in Bijapur of Chhattisgarh on Wednesday, August 28, reported News Riveting.

According to the report, the cadres of the extremist group picked up Sudru Karam, a resident of Timnar area under the Mirtur police station limits of Bijapur and forcefully took him into the forests area adjoining the village.

The Maoists then brutally killed the said youth and threw his body at the outskirts of the village before leaving the area. It’s been reported that the brother of the deceased villager is associated with the Chhattisgarh police which could be the reason behind the gruesome murder.

The killing of Sudru marks third such occurrence within a week where the cadres of the far left group have killed a civilian, underscoring the grim reality of villagers who lived in a constant fear of being chased and killed by the extremists in the area of their dominance.

Earlier in back to back incidents that have sent shockwaves through the region, the ultras have carried out similar executions of civilians in Poosnar and Jaigur villages. In the first incident the extremists have executed an elderly resident of Poosnar village under Gangloor police station of Bijapur.

The deceased was identified as Lanchi Punem who was attacked with sharp edged weapons on alleged charges of espionage on Friday. Days later the Maoists in another similar incident abducted a youth of the Jaigur village of the Bijapur district.

The abducted youth Situ Mandavi was later produced before a Jan Adalat, a self-styled court of the Maoists where he was declared a traitor and awarded with capital punishment, leading to his execution. Mandavi’s body was later recovered from the outskirts of the forest area with a handwritten note alleging him to be an informer of the police since 2021.

It must be noted that around three dozen civilians have so far been killed in separate incidents of violence unleashed by the group which drew its inspiration from the far left ideology. Majority of the civilians killed by the outlaws were charged with alleged espionage activities while the others succumbed to death after sustaining fatal injuries during Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) explosions, planted on forests trails with an aim to halt advancement of the security forces in interiors.
