On August 22, a CBI officer revealed that psychoanalytic profiling of Sanjay Roy, the accused in the Kolkata doctor rape-murder case, indicates he is a “pervert and severely addicted to pornography.” The officer described Roy as having an “animal-like instinct” and noted that he showed no remorse for the brutal murder that occurred at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.

The CBI officer told the media that Sanjay Roy expressed no remorse for the crime that sparked national outrage. He described the entire incident to the investigation agency without showing any hesitation.

“The man showed no remorse and recounted the entire incident in minute detail without any hesitation. It seemed he had no sense of guilt,” the officer told the agency.

During her 36-hour shift, the Kolkata doctor had gone to rest in the hospital’s seminar hall when she was attacked. The post-mortem report reveals that she was raped and brutally beaten, suffering 16 external and nine internal injuries. She died from strangulation.

Sanjay Roy was arrested the day after the crime. He was seen entering the building around the estimated time of the attack, and his Bluetooth headphones were found near the crime scene.

Several pornographic clips were discovered on Sanjay Roy’s mobile phone. The officer stated that technical and scientific evidence indicates the accused’s presence at the crime scene.

CCTV footage shows him in the chest department at 11 am on August 8. The cameras later recorded him entering the same building at 4 am on August 9. The estimated time of death of the woman was between 3 am and 5 am on August 9.

The CBI is investigating whether a larger conspiracy was behind the victim’s murder and has questioned former RG Kar Medical College principal, Dr Sandip Ghosh, for several days. Additionally, the Kolkata Police are looking into allegations of financial irregularities against Dr Ghosh. On August 21, Akhtar Ali, a former colleague of Ghosh, claimed that Ghosh was involved in the “business of dead bodies.”
