In a shocking incident, a minor student has been arrested for the brutal murder of his classmate, Mohammad Ayan, aged 12, at the Jamiya Naimiya Arbi College in the Tulsipur police station area of Balrampur district. The incident occurred on the night of August 1, 2024, sending shockwaves through the local community.

According to the police, Mohammad Ayan, a resident of the Jarwa police station area and a second-grade student at the madrasa, was found stabbed to death in room number 15 of the institution.

The accused, another 12-year-old student from Balrampur district, was apprehended on Sunday, August 4, following a complaint lodged by Mohammad Ayan’s father.

Investigations revealed that the murder was the culmination of a heated argument between the two students that had taken place a few days prior. The dispute escalated to a point where Mohammad Ayan allegedly swore on the Quran to kill the accused before the night of Jumma (Friday). The accused, fearing for his life, decided to act first and purchased a knife, which he used to carry out the heinous act.

According to the accused, on the night of August 1, 2024, he entered room number 15 of the madrasa, where Mohammad Ayan was asleep with several other students. Armed with a knife, the accused waited until he was certain that everyone in the room was asleep.

With a chilling intent, he placed a pillow over Mohammad Ayan’s face and neck to muffle any screams. In a horrifying act of violence, the accused then proceeded to stab Mohammad Ayan multiple times in the stomach with the knife he had brought.

After ensuring Mohammad Ayan stopped moving for a significant period, the accused left the room quietly. As a final act, he covered Mohammad Ayan’s body with a bedsheet before making his way back to his own room.

The police, acting swiftly on the complaint, registered a case under section 103(3) of Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita (BNS). During interrogation, the accused initially attempted to mislead the authorities but eventually confessed to the crime. The weapon used in the murder, along with the blood-stained clothes of the accused, were recovered based on his testimony.
