Imphal: In a commendable initiative, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has applauded the daily practice of singing the National Anthem by students and staff at Little Flower School and Millennium School in capital city Imphal. This practice, carried out during the schools’ morning assembly, is seen as a crucial step in fostering a sense of nationalism and patriotism among the young minds.

In a recent post on the microblogging site X, Chief Minister Singh expressed his admiration for this practice, emphasising its importance beyond being a mere routine. He highlighted how this daily performance serves as a powerful reminder of the responsibilities that each citizen holds towards the nation.

“The daily rendition of the National Anthem instils in young minds a profound love and devotion for our motherland,” CM Singh wrote. “It continuously reinforces the notion that we all have a role to play in serving and uplifting our great nation.”

Fostering patriotism from a young age

The initiative taken by Little Flower School and Millennium School aligns with the broader educational objective of inculcating patriotic values in students from a young age. By starting their day with the National Anthem, students are reminded of their national identity and the importance of unity and dedication to the beloved country.

A model for other schools

Chief Minister Singh’s acknowledgment of these schools sets a positive example for other educational institutions across the state and the nation. Encouraging such practices can significantly contribute to nurturing a generation of responsible and patriotic citizens. Rituals like the daily singing of the National Anthem have a profound impact on young students. They not only promote a sense of belonging and pride in their country but also instil values of discipline and respect. The continuous reinforcement of these values plays a crucial role in shaping the character and civic consciousness of the youth.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh’s praise for the daily singing of the National Anthem at Little Flower School and Millennium School underscores the significance of patriotic education in schools. This practice not only fosters a sense of national pride but also serves as a daily reminder of the collective responsibility towards the nation. As more schools adopt similar initiatives, the ripple effect of nurturing patriotic citizens will undoubtedly contribute to the nation’s growth and unity.
