BENGALURU: The MUDA site-sharing controversy has significantly intensified tensions in state politics. Recently, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has come under scrutiny following a series of complaints filed against him. Bengaluru  based  social activist TJ Abraham has taken the latest step by lodging a complaint with the state  Election Commission, alleging that Siddaramaiah concealed information about 3.16 acres of agricultural land registered in his wife’s name in his election affidavit.

Abraham’s complaint points out that Siddaramaiah failed to disclose these land details in his 2013 election affidavit. The activist has accused the Chief Minister of deliberately leaving the column blank, thereby violating the Representation of the People Act of the Indian Penal Code. Abraham has demanded that appropriate legal action be taken against Siddaramaiah for this alleged omission.

This development follows a recent complaint filed at the Vijayanagar police station in Mysore against Siddaramaiah and his family. The complaint alleges that they created a fake document to acquire a valuable plot worth crores, further fueling the controversy.

The MUDA  site sharing dispute has now taken a sharp political turn. Using the controversy as leverage, the BJP has been launching direct attacks on CM Siddaramaiah. BJP leaders have seized upon this issue, intensifying their criticism with only five days left before the  legislative  session.

BJP leaders have announced plans to lay siege to the MUDA  office in Mysore on July 12. They have also threatened to raise a commotion within the legislative assembly. The saffron camp sees this as an opportunity to weaken Siddaramaiah’s position and has vowed to keep the pressure on.

Meanwhile, CM Siddaramaiah has responded to the allegations made by the BJP. He has defended himself and his family, dismissing the accusations as politically motivated. Siddaramaiah’s supporters argue that these complaints are part of a broader strategy by the opposition to tarnish his reputation and disrupt his administration.

The unfolding events have created a charged atmosphere in Karnataka’s political landscape. As both sides prepare for the upcoming  legislative session, the controversy over the MUDA  site sharing and the accusations against Siddaramaiah are likely to dominate the discussions. The Chief Minister’s response to these allegations and the BJP’s actions in the coming days will be closely watched by political observers and the public alike.
