Bihar: Journalist stabbed to death by unknown assailants in Muzaffarpur, probe launched

The murder of the journalist took place around 500 meters away from the deceased house where he was stopped and then stabbed by knives late in the evening on June 25

In a shocking incident that unfolded on late Tuesday evening, June 25, a journalist was stabbed to death by a few unknown miscreants in Maniyari of Muzaffarpur in Bihar.

The fateful incident occurred when a journalist identified as Shiv Shankar Jha was attacked by unknown assailants near Pakud Chowk of Madipur village under Muniyari police station limits when he was returning to his village on late Tuesday evening.

According to the reports, Shivshankar Jha, a resident of Madipur village was attacked only meters away from his house, where the assailants stabbed him twice near his neck after which he fell unconscious.

Upon receiving information, a police team rushed to the spot following which Jha was immediately taken to Sri Krishna Medical College Hospital with the help of the locals where the doctors declared him dead. It’s been learned that the deceased had worked with many media houses in the past.

Briefing the media about the incident, Sub Divisonal Police Officer, Animesh Chandra Gyani informed that a probe is launched into the matter and the police is investigating the case from all possible angles.

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed into the matter who has further detained two people during the course of investigation, the detained duo are being interrogated.

CCTV footage of the nearby areas are also being examined by the police, probe into the matter is still on, stated an official statement of the Muzaffarpur police.
