Early on June 22, the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA) and Mangalagiri Tadepalli Municipal Corporation (MTMC) demolished the Yuvajana Shramika Rythu Congress Party’s (YSRCP) under-construction office building. Reacting to this, YS Jagan called this act “vendetta politics.”

Strongly reacting to this demolition, YS Jagan stated on X, “In Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu has escalated his repressive actions to another level in his quest for political vendetta. Like a dictator, he has used bulldozers to demolish the nearly completed YSR Congress Party central office in Tadepalli, disregarding High Court orders. Law and justice have completely vanished in the state. Following the elections, the violent incidents resulting in bloodshed orchestrated by Chandrababu sent a brutal message about how the governance will be over the next five years. However, the YSR Congress Party will neither bow down to these intimidations nor back down from these acts of vengeance. We will continue to fight vigorously on behalf of the people, for the people, and with the people. I urge all democrats in the country to condemn Chandrababu’s malicious actions.”

The demolition sparked a heated exchange of words between the supporters of TDP and YSRCP, reflecting the polarized political climate in the region.

TDP, from its official handle, tweeted on X, stating, “Shamelessly, he admits that instead of building a water plant for the drinking water needs of the people, they have occupied and encroached on the land belonging to the fishermen. While plundering the properties of the people, do you expect us to ignore your encroachments, your illegal occupations, and your luxurious palaces?”

Sajjala Bhargava Reddy, YSR Congress Party Media and Social Media Coordinator says this demolition is contempt of court, and they plan to bring this matter to the attention of the High Court.

Reacting to X, he stated, “Challenging the CRDA preliminary proceedings for the demolition, the YSRCP approached the High Court yesterday, which ordered not to act against the law. The YSRCP lawyer informed the CRDA Commissioner about the High Court orders. Despite these orders, the YSRCP alleges that their office building was demolished, disregarding the High Court’s directive.”
