In a recent development, DCP Rajtilak Roshan of Zone 9 has dismissed the complaint filed against Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon as “false” after reviewing CCTV footage from the premises.

Mumbai police officials have disclosed that the CCTV recordings depict a series of events unfolding where Tandon’s driver manoeuvres the car in reverse, only to be confronted by members of the complainant’s family, sparking a heated exchange.

Detailing the incident, DCP Roshan remarked, “The verbal exchange escalated into a confrontation, prompting actress Raveena Tandon to intervene on behalf of her driver.” He further noted that the situation escalated as the mob directed abusive language towards both Tandon and her driver.

Following the altercation, both parties proceeded to the Khar police station to lodge formal complaints. However, it was later confirmed by DCP Roshan that they retracted their complaints. Fortunately, no injuries were reported as the car did not come into contact with anyone.

Moreover, DCP Roshan clarified that allegations suggesting Tandon was intoxicated were baseless, refuting certain media reports.

The incident, occurring on the evening of Saturday, June 1, involved a clash between a group of individuals and Raveena Tandon and her driver outside her residence in Mumbai’s Bandra suburb. The disagreement arose when Tandon’s driver attempted to park her car, resulting in a collision with another vehicle.

Amidst the chaos, a video documenting the event circulated online, depicting an aggressive crowd surrounding Tandon and physically assaulting her despite her appeals for calm. The footage also captured a woman in a burqa accusing Tandon of causing her injury.

In response, Tandon can be heard urging the crowd to desist from violence. Meanwhile, another individual is heard encouraging aggression against her.

Allegations surfaced alleging that Tandon was intoxicated during the altercation and had caused severe injuries. However, both the CCTV footage and investigations conducted by Mumbai police have discredited these claims.

Ultimately, this incident underscores the challenges of managing public altercations involving public figures, underscoring the necessity for meticulous investigation and careful evaluation of evidence.
