US President Joe Biden, in a stunning reaffirmation of US support for Israel’s war in Gaza Said his administration stands with Israel to take out Sinwar and the rest of the butchers of Hamas. He was referring to Palestinian militant group Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar seen as an orchestrator of the October 7, 2023 attacks on southern Israel.

Joe Biden also rejected the International Criminal Court applications for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders, including PM Benjamin Netanyahu, saying that what’s happening in Gaza is not a genocide. “We want Hamas defeated and we are working with Israel to make that happen,” Biden said at a White House Event Marking Jewish American Heritage Month soon after the international court’s move.

“Let me be very clear. We reject the ICC application for arrest warrants against Israeli leaders. Whatever these warrants may imply there is no equivalence between Israel and Hamas. What’s happening is nor a genocide at all,” he said. On May 20, 2024, the ICC Chief prosecutor Karim Khan sought arrest warrants for Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar and Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity during the October 7 attacks on Israel.

Biden added that Washington is working to boost humanitarian aid for Palestinian civilian in Gaza. But without mentioning the killings of tens of thousands of Palestinians in Israel retaliatory state of war, Biden stressed that the current crisis is Hamas fault. He additionally said that the US support for the safety and security of Israelis is akin to ironclad.

Biden’s address was delivered at a venue where the American-Israel hostage, Hersh Goldbergs Polish parents Rachel and Jon were in the audience Acknowledging the two, Biden pledged that the efforts to bring their son home are not ceased. The Hamas leaders have been accused of extermination as a crime against humanity, murder and taking hostage as war-crime according to an official statement.

Negotiations have been stalled between Hamas and Israel in trying to gain the freedom of sick, elderly wounded hostages held by the militants, but Biden vowed not to give up trying to gain their release. “We are going to get them home, we will get them home come hell or high water,” Biden said.

US President Joe Biden in recent months, has faced growing political pressure from his own party over handling of the Gaza conflict as the Palestinian death toll climbed to more than 35,000 people as the Palestinian death toll climbed to more than 35,000 people according to Gaza’s Health ministry and Israel siege has created dire humanitarian in the territory.
