Amit Shah alleges AAP’s involvement in scams worth thousands of crores; Liquor scam tip of the iceberg

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has launched a scathing attack on Arvind Kejriwal, alleging multiple instances of corruption within the AAP Government. In a recent statement, Amit Shah asserted that the ongoing investigation into the liquor policy scam is merely the tip of the iceberg, with seven other alleged scams awaiting scrutiny

Union Home Minister Amit Shah on May 20 targeted Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and claimed that the alleged liquor policy scam is only the tip of the iceberg regarding the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi. He added that an investigation into seven other scams is still pending.

Amit Shah was addressing a rally in South Delhi’s Sangam Vihar, his first in the city ahead of the May 25 polls.

Amit Shah alleged that numerous scams have occurred under the Kejriwal Government. “Only the liquor policy scam has been investigated. Investigations into seven other scams remain to be conducted,” he said.

Home Minister Amit Shah accused the Delhi Government of involvement in eight scams, including the alleged Delhi excise scam, a Rs 78,000 crore Jal Board scam, a Rs 5,000 crore classroom construction scam, a Rs 1,000 crore fake medicine scam, and a Rs 4,000 crore X-ray scam.

“The list of their corruption is very long. I ask, who did the Rs 2,875 crore liquor scam? Who did the Rs 78,000 crore Jal Board scam? Who did the Rs 5,000 crore classroom construction scam? Who did the Rs 1,000 crore fake medicine scam? Who did the Rs 4,000 crore X-ray scam? Who did the panic button scam of Rs 2,000 crore? The Rs 1,000 crore scam in buying buses and who made the Rs 125 crore Sheesh Mahal?” Amit Shah asked.

Furthermore, the Home Minister called on voters to support the BJP with such aggression that Kejriwal would be reminded he must return to Tihar jail. The Supreme Court has granted Arvind Kejriwal interim bail until June 1, following his arrest in a money laundering case linked to the alleged liquor policy scam, to allow him to campaign for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

Labelling Kejriwal as “shameless,” Amit Shah remarked that Kejriwal is the sole leader who has retained CM’s position even after going to jail.

“He is the only leader who has remained chief minister even after going to jail. After the BJP wins the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi, the ‘Fevicol’ with which Kejriwal is sticking to his chair of the chief minister will come unstuck,” Amit Shah said.

Attacking the Delhi Government sarcastically, Shah said, “This Kejriwal Government is a 3G Government. The first G is for scams, the second G is for bribery, and the third G for fraud.” He added, “Kejriwal, who called himself a staunchly honest man, is today walking on the path of staunch dishonesty.”

Furthermore, Amit Shah said that he has not seen any leader who changes his stance or takes more “U-turns” than the AAP national convenor. He explained that Kejriwal pledged to send Congress leaders to jail for corruption but has now taken a “U-turn” and is “sitting on the lap” of the grand old party for contesting the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

The Enforcement Directorate arrested Arvind Kejriwal on March 21 in connection with the Delhi Excise Policy case linked to a money laundering case. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Dutta granted the Delhi Chief Minister interim bail.
