The Indian Air Force (IAF) has released a notification for the Air Force Common Admission Test (AFCAT) 2/2024 for recruitment to the post of Commissioned Officers in Technical and Non-Technical Branches on May 20, 2024.

The notification has been released for the recruitment of 304 officers in the Indian Air Force through the AFCAT Recruitment Test 2024. The application process is expected to begin from May 30 and shall be open till June 28, 2024. IAF will be releasing a detailed notification with the various posts, dates and vacancy details in the month of June 2024. The AFCAT exam will be conducted in the month of September 2024.
The various posts and number of vacancy has been listed below:
- Flying Branch- 29
- Ground Duty (Technical)- 156
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical)- 119
- NCC Special Entry- 10 per cent of the Total Vacancies
A total of 304 vacancies will be filled through the AFCAT 2024 recruitment process 2024. The average pay scale for the posts is INR 56100- 177500. The application fees is INR 550 for candidates belonging to any category.
Candidates who want to apply should have a bachelors degree with atleast 60 per cent marks and should have passed Class 12 with 50 per cent marks in Physics and Maths. You must keep in mind that there is a age limit aswell for these posts. To apply for Flying Branch and NCC Special Entry, you must be 20-24 Years on July 1 2025 (born between July 2 2001 to 1 July 2005, both dates inclusive), and for Ground Duty (Tech/Non-Tech), you must be of 20-24 Years on July 1 2025 (born between July 2 1999 to July 1 2005, both dates inclusive).
The candidates will be recruited on the basis of a written exam and a physical test. The selection process for AFCAT 2 2024 includes the following stages:
- Stage 1: Written Exam
- Stage 2: Air Force Selection Board (AFSB)
- Stage 3: Final Merit List

The Air Force Common Admission Test or AFCAT is conducted by the IAF to select Class-I Gazetted Officers in Flying and Ground Duties (Technical and Non-Technical). The exam is held twice a year, in February and August/September, respectively.
