Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who filed his nomination papers on May 14 from the Varanasi Lok Sabha constituency for a third time, declared moveable assets worth Rs 3.02 crore, disclosing that he doesn’t own any car, house, or piece of land.
In the affidavit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi declared total assets worth Rs 3.02 crore, the bulk of which is a fixed deposit worth Rs 2.86 crore with the State Bank of India. His total cash in hand is Rs 52,920, and he has Rs 80,304 in two bank accounts in Gandhinagar and Varanasi.
The Prime Minister has Rs 9.12 lakh as an investment in National Savings Certificates and also owns four gold rings worth Rs 2.68 lakh. His income went up to Rs 23.56 lakh in 2022-23 from Rs 11.14 lakh in 2018-19. The Prime Minister has declared that he holds an MA degree from Gujarat University and that he graduated from Delhi University in 1978. PM passed the SSC exam from the Gujarat board in 1967.
Rahul Gandhi’s Allegation
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has consistently raised concerns regarding the purported connections between PM Modi and prominent Indian industrialists Gautam Adani and the Ambani family. Most recently, on May 8, Rahul Gandhi asserted that PM Modi had allegedly been propelled into power by the support of Adani and Ambani. This accusation came in response to PM Modi’s claims during election campaigns suggesting that Rahul Gandhi had previously benefited from ties with these business magnates.

PM Modi, meanwhile, also claimed that the opposition parties had been receiving illegal funds from Ambani and Adani and had stopped cursing about the billionaires. “For five years, you cussed out Ambani and Adani, and overnight, the cussing has stopped?” PM Modi said while addressing an election rally in Telangana recently.
Rahul Gandhi’s Assets
Congress’ Rahul Gandhi also submitted his affidavit to the election authorities as he filed a nomination from Kerala’s Wayanad for the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. Rahul’s affidavits filed show assets valued at Rs 20.34 crore, over six times the worth of PM Modi’s assets.
Rahul Gandhi’s movable assets are valued at Rs 9.24 crore, and his immovable assets amount to Rs 11.14 crore. He holds stock market investments worth Rs 4.3 crore, mutual fund deposits worth Rs 3.81 crore, and Rs 26.25 lakh in a bank account, along with gold bonds worth Rs 15.21 lakh. His immovable assets include self-acquired properties valued at Rs 9.04 crore and inherited assets worth Rs 2.10 crore.
Among Rahul Gandhi’s immovable assets are agricultural land in Sultanpur village, Mehrauli, New Delhi, spanning around 3.778 acres, jointly held with his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and commercial apartments in Signature Towers, Gurugram, covering 5,838 square feet. According to his Income Tax statement, Rahul Gandhi’s annual income in 2022-23 was Rs 1.02 crore.
Rahul Gandhi has declared Rs 55,000 in cash holdings, with a total income of Rs 1.02 crore during the financial year 2022-23, attributed to various sources, including salary, royalty, rent, interest from bonds, dividends, and capital gains from mutual funds. He also possesses jewellery worth Rs 4.2 lakh and liabilities amounting to around Rs 49.7 lakh, with no ownership of residential property.
While Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party have criticised PM Modi for living luxuriously and neglecting poor farmers, recent documents reveal Rahul Gandhi’s own substantial wealth and alleged disconnect from the country’s impoverished.
Notably, Rahul Gandhi’s scion’s asset value has increased by 3583 per cent since 2004, with him getting richer by Rs 6 crore in just the past five years without doing any profitable, valuable activity. While Gandhi continues alleging PM Modi’s alleged ‘illegal’ source of income, the party or the leader must first disclose his own source of ‘illegal’ money and association with Adani and Ambani if any as claimed by PM Modi.
