Addressing multiple rallies across Gujarat, PM Modi vehemently criticised the alleged endorsement of such divisive tactics, particularly targeting a leader within the I.N.D.I Alliance, sparking a nationwide debate on electoral ethics and communal politics.

The Prime Minister’s condemnation was triggered by the reported statements of Maria Alam Khan, a Samajwadi Party candidate and niece of Congress stalwart Salman Khurshid, made during a rally in Uttar Pradesh. PM Modi expressed profound dismay at the origins of such rhetoric, emphasising that it emerged not from the confines of a religious institution but from a highly educated Muslim family entrenched in the political landscape.
Drawing parallels to historical divisions, PM Modi cautioned against the pernicious implications of this purported strategy, likening it to previous instances of communal strife perpetuated for political advantage. He underscored the complicity of silence among Congress ranks, accusing them of tacitly endorsing divisive agendas to pander to specific vote banks, thereby exacerbating societal fault lines.
Further stoking the political fire, PM Modi seized upon recent developments involving Pakistan, insinuating a nexus between certain opposition factions and external interests. He pointed to Pakistan’s purported eagerness for the resurgence of Congress, implying a vested interest in destabilising India’s political landscape to further its own agenda. PM Modi’s rhetoric painted a stark picture of opposition collaboration with external forces, raising questions about the integrity and sovereignty of the nation’s democratic process.
Amidst these allegations, PM Modi reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the constitutional values and unity of the nation, vowing to counter any attempts at subversion. PM Modi delivered speeches at four rallies, spanning across Anand in central Gujarat and various constituencies in Saurashtra, including Junagadh, Jamnagar, and Surendranagar.
