A row has erupted between the Indian National Congress (INC) national media coordinator, Radhika Khera and a leader of the Chhattisgarh unit of the Congress party on Tuesday, April 30.

According to the reports, the Congress Party spokesperson and media coordinator were reportedly seen in tears after she got into a heated exchange of words with a member of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), Chhattisgarh, following Party’s president Mallikarjun Kharge’s rally in Janjgir Champa on Tuesday.

An alleged video pertaining to the said incident is also doing the rounds on the internet, in which Radhika can be heard narrating her ordeal to a senior leader of the Congress party.

In the viral video, the spokesperson for the Congress party can be heard saying that she is going to resign from the party as she never faced such humiliation in her entire life. In the said video, the party spokesperson further alleged that she was asked to get out over talking to the media.

It has been further reported that Radhika was later seen leaving the party’s headquarters in tears over the incident. Later on, Khera also expressed her resentment over the incident on social media platform X.

— Radhika Khera (@Radhika_Khera) April 30, 2024

Taking to X, the Congress leader, while expressing her pain over the mistreatment, said, ” A daughter is not safe in the maternal home of Mata Kaushalya, Even today, people suffering from male chauvinistic mentality want to crush the daughters under their feet. I will reveal it.”

BJP reacts to the incident

Meanwhile, taking a dig on the Congress party, Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) spokesperson Kedarnath Gupta said, that “the video of the Congress national spokesperson in tears has also pained us deeply. If a national level leader of the Congress party is hurt on the sacred land of Mata Kaushalya, we also feel affected by this.”

“You save yourself from the congressmen, rest assured, nothing will happen to you in Chhattisgarh under the good governance of Vishnu Deo Sai, its a guarantee of Modi,” added Gupta.

“Where a lady is not respected, every good deed is ravaged there, while even gods reside at a place where the lady is respected,” quoted Gupta further while referring to a Sanskrit Shloka.

It is worth mentioning here that this is not the first time that a woman leader of the grand old party has raised an issue pertaining to humiliation by fellow party workers, and earlier another senior leader and the then national spokesperson of the Congress Party, Priyanka Chaturvedi, had also called it a day in the party after party workers misbehaved with her during a press conference in the run-up to the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.

It was then reported that Priyanka had also complained about the party workers behaviour to the senior leadership, following which 8 members of the party were initially suspended. However, the suspended members were later reinstated into the party following a formal apology, which triggered the exit of Priyanka.
