Tamil Nadu BJP Chief and Coimbatore Lok Sabha Candidate, K Annamalai, unveiled an ambitious manifesto on April 12, titled “My Dream is Our Coimbatore,” promising 100 initiatives to be fulfilled within 500 days if elected. Annamalai’s manifesto outlines a comprehensive vision for the development of the Coimbatore constituency across various sectors.

Some of the key promises made by Annamalai include the establishment of the 2nd Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and branch offices of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Coimbatore. Additionally, he plans to operationalize 250 public dispensaries in the city and introduce 10 new trains from Coimbatore to spiritual destinations across the country.

Among the key promises made by Annamalai are plans to establish the 2nd Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and branch offices of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in Coimbatore. Additionally, he pledged to operationalize 250 public dispensaries, introduce 10 new trains to spiritual destinations, and establish three 24×7 food banks in memory of former Chief Minister Kamaraj.

Infrastructure development features prominently in the manifesto, with commitments to expedite the completion of the Coimbatore Metro projects, upgrade major roadways, construct new flyovers, and establish a new bus terminal. Annamalai also vowed to establish an agricultural export centre with cold storage facilities and implement the Anaimalai-Nallar Project to enhance water resources.

Healthcare and education initiatives include the establishment of a high-quality cancer treatment hospital, setting up international sports grounds under the ‘Khelo India’ project, and renovating ancient temples under the central government’s ‘Prasad’ scheme. The manifesto also promises to establish heritage museums, youth hostels for tourists, and People’s Grievance Redressal Centres in all six assembly offices under the Coimbatore constituency.

Furthermore, the manifesto highlights initiatives for cultural preservation and sports development. Annamalai aims to renovate ancient temples in Coimbatore under the central government’s ‘Prasad’ scheme, establish a heritage museum of international standards, and set up an international sports ground in Coimbatore under the ‘Khelo India’ project. Additionally, he plans to establish youth hostels for tourists and set up a branch training centre of the National Sports Authority of India (SAI Patiala) in Coimbatore.

Annamalai also emphasises accountability and transparency in governance, promising to audit fund allocations for Smart City projects and take action against irregularities. He plans to establish People’s Grievance Redressal Centres in all six assembly offices under the Coimbatore constituency.

The manifesto reflects Annamalai’s commitment to addressing the needs and aspirations of the people of Coimbatore across various sectors. It aims to harness the city’s potential for growth and prosperity, positioning it as a beacon of development in Tamil Nadu.
