Gaining the spotlight, Arun Yogiraj has once again captured hearts with his latest creation. This time he has come up with a smaller Ram Lalla murti for the sacred city of Ayodhya. While unveiling this intricately crafted murti the Mysuru-based artist shared that the miniature version was made by him during his idle hours in Ayodhya.

With the images of the Ram Lalla murti, he wrote on X (Twitter), “After the selection of the main Murti of Ram Lalla, I carved another small Ram Lalla murti (Stone) in my free time at Ayodhya”.

After this tweet, social media platforms have been overloaded with shares and comments that represent and reflect the widespread admiration and reverence for the sculptor’s work.

Notably, the small murti has a striking resemblance to the ‘Balak Ram’ sculpture which is standing in a similar position. What sets it apart is the lighter shade of stone that has been used to carve it. Despite its smaller size, the Ram Lalla murti emits a profound aura that is attracting all devotees to experience the divine presence of Bhagwan Ram more intimately. Arun Yogiraj’s mastery over his craft was recently highlighted when he shared a glimpse of the silver hammer with the golden chisel using which he carved the divine eyes (Netronmilana )of Ram Lalla.

Sharing these behind-the-scenes details with audiences helps people better appreciate Yogiraj’s skill and helps them understand the deeper meanings behind these special sculptures. Every tap of the hammer and carving of the chisel is like a respectful action, making the murtis feel like they hold a sacred spirit beyond just their physical shape. As the images of Arun Yogiraj’s creations continue to circulate widely, they act as a reminder of the profound role that art plays nowadays in shaping religious experiences and fostering spiritual connection.

Moreover, the unveiling of the smaller murti not only showcases Yogiraj’s artistic skills but also symbolizes a shift in perspective towards inclusivity in religious worship. By presenting a more modest-sized murti, Yogiraj invites devotees or worshippers to connect with Bhagwan Ram’s divine presence. As Ram Lalla devotees and visitors flock to Ayodhya to witness the new murti firsthand, the city’s cultural landscape undergoes a profound transformation.

In the evolving narrative of Ayodhya, Arun Yogiraj’s return and his creation of the smaller Ram Lalla murti shows how art can keep inspiring, bringing people together, and going beyond limits.

Who is Arun Yogiraj?

Born and raised in India, Arun Yogiraj is a fifth-generation sculptor who has dedicated his life to the pursuit of sculpting divine murtis, particularly those of Hindu deities. What sets Yogiraj apart is not just his technical proficiency but also his profound spiritual connection to his craft. Each sculpture he creates is imbued with reverence and devotion, reflecting his unwavering faith and commitment to his subjects.

Throughout his career, Yogiraj has undertaken numerous significant projects including 12-foot-tall murti of Adi Shankaracharya, which has been placed in Kedarnath, statue of Subhas Chandra Bose in Delhi, 21 feet tall Hanuman statue at Chunchanakatte in Mysore, six feet tall monolithic statue of Nandi to name a few.
