After the abduction of the BJP leader, the Maoists allegedly took him to the nearby forest and shot him dead after interrogating him. The deceased BJP leader has been identified as Kailash Nag, a resident of Janlga police station limits of Bijapur, its been learned that the deceased party worker of the BJP was on the radar of the Maoists and had also received threats of insurgents in the past as well.
The incident occurred days after another BJP leader, identified as Tirupati Katlu, was stabbed to death by the extremist in the Toynar area of Bijapur on March 1, the Maoist attacked the BJP leader when he was returning from a wedding function.
Reacting to the killing of Tirupati, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, while offering his condolences to the family members of the deceased party leader had asserted that the battle against the Naxals is in a decisive juncture and his government will never allow the intentions of the extremists to succeed.
