UPSC ESE (IES) 2024 result expected today; check latest updates

The Union Public Service Commission is expected to release the results of the UPSC ESE Prelims 2024 today. UPSC conducted the preliminary exam for the Engineering Service Exam (ESE) on February 18, 2024. Candidates can now expect the results to be released anytime soon on the official website - upsc.gov.in

UPSC ESE 2024 Result will be released in the form of a PDF file. The IES result PDF will contain the names and roll numbers of the qualified candidates. Candidates can download the PDF from the official UPSC website and search for their roll numbers or names to know their qualifying status. The selected candidates will be able to sit for the national UPSC ESE Mains 2024 exam, scheduled for June 23, 2024.

On September 6, 2023, UPSC notified 167 vacancies for IES Exam 2024, the lowest in recent years. The final selection of the candidates qualifying the prelims will be made after the mains exam and interview/personality test.

How to Check UPSC ESE Prelims Result 2024?

You must follow the detailed guidelines provided below to download or view your UPSC ESE Prelims 2024 result:

Step 1: Go to UPSC’s official website @upsc.gov.in.

Step 2: Look for the “Engineering Services (Prelims) Exam 2024” option and click on it. You will be directed to another page.

Step 3: At this point, you will see a “List of Candidates Eligible for the Mains Examination 2024” option. Click on it to download the PDF file.

Step 4: Check whether you are qualified to take part in the Mains by opening the result gazette and searching for your roll number.

UPSC ESE Prelims 2024: Cutoff

The Union Public Service Commission will officially announce the cutoff marks to be called for the second round of UPSC ESE 2024 for Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, and Telecom Engineering. Only candidates scoring equal to or more than the minimum cutoff marks will be eligible for the next stage of the selection process.

Candidates who took the exam should be aware that while the cutoff marks for General will likely be between 180 and 200, they will be lower for candidates from reserved categories than for UR candidates.

UPSC decides ESE cut off marks depending on various factors like:

●     Total number of candidates taking the exam

●     Total vacancies for ESE as released by UPSC

●     Difficulty level of the exam

Candidates will be able to check the exact cutoff marks from the official website of UPSC once it is released.
