ABVP Passes Resolution: Strongly condemns heinous crimes against women in Sandeshkhali

The Central Working Committee (CWC) meeting of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) concluded at Vivekananda CBSE School in Puducherry, marking a significant moment for the organisation as it deliberated on crucial national issues and outlined its future agenda.

Educational Initiatives and Reforms:

The meeting commenced with a comprehensive review of educational campaigns and initiatives conducted nationwide. ABVP, under the leadership of President Dr Rajsharan Shahi, emphasised the urgent need for immediate reforms in the education sector. Dr Rajsharan Shahi stressed the importance of holistic development and higher student participation. Initiatives like the ‘Parisar Chalo Abhiyan’ were highlighted as pivotal in achieving these goals.

Condemnation of Heinous Crimes:

One of the focal points of the meeting was the unequivocal condemnation of the heinous crimes against women in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal. ABVP passed a resolution condemning the State Government’s apathy and failure to address the issue effectively. The resolution likened Sandeshkhali to the Noakhali of the 21st century and called for public condemnation against atrocities on women. ABVP pledged to raise the voices of the victims and submit a memorandum to the President through district collectors.

Nationwide Youth Voter Awareness Campaign:

ABVP unveiled plans for a nationwide ‘Youth Voter Awareness Campaign’ aimed at engaging students in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The campaign seeks to ensure the active participation of youth in the democratic process by fostering awareness and vigilance. Discussions during the meeting revolved around empowering youth to define their role in shaping the future of the nation through democratic participation.

Solidarity and Future Endeavours:

Yagywalkya Shukla reiterated ABVP’s commitment to standing in solidarity with the victims of crimes against women in Sandeshkhali, West Bengal. Plans were charted out to empower youth and infuse deeper meaning into the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. ABVP emphasised the importance of Bharatiya values in guiding the youth towards nation-building and global welfare.

The CWC Meeting of ABVP in Puducherry witnessed robust discussions on a wide range of issues, including education, women’s safety, and youth empowerment. The organisation reiterated its commitment to advocating for positive change and empowering the youth to become active participants in shaping the future of the nation.
