In a recent development, police have apprehended four individuals for illegal entry into India from Bangladesh. The suspects, identified as Mohammad Azad alias Sheikh Azad, Mohammad Robin Miya, Mohammad Alamin Hossain, and Mohammed Mohin, hailing from different regions of Jhenaidah district in southwestern Bangladesh, confessed to entering India illegally and fabricating documents to conceal their status.
In a statement released by Three-town Inspector of Police Murali on Tuesday, it was disclosed that Sub-Inspector Vijaya apprehended four individuals under suspicion while they were present at a construction site in Safai Basthi in Kothagudem town on Monday.
Upon investigation, Kothagudem – Bhadrachalam police officers seized fake identity documents, bank passbooks, ATM cards, and mobile phones from the arrested individuals. A case has been registered against them under several sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Sections 420 (cheating), 468 (forgery), and 471 (using forged documents as genuine), along with Section 14A(b) of the Foreigners Act-1946, which pertains to entering or residing in India without valid documentation.
Police have urged the public to report any suspicious activities or individuals in their vicinity to the them. This incident comes after the recent arrest and imprisonment of four Bangladeshi nationals by Khammam police in early February. The individuals had illegally entered India nearly two decades ago and had been residing in Khammam city.
Until now, it was believed that illegal Bangladeshi immigrants primarily resided in and around the city of Hyderabad. However, identifying non-local individuals living in the more remote districts of the city poses a significant challenge.
