In a historic ceremony led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the consecration of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir marked the initiation of an ambitious plan to transform Ayodhya into a global spiritual tourist hub. The grandeur of the occasion was further emphasised by the presence of lakhs of devotees who braved freezing weather to witness the sacred event.

The Treasurer of the Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Swami Gurudev Giriji, shared intricate details of the elaborate plan, which includes the completion of the main Mandir and the construction of 13 additional Mandirs. As of now, the main Mandir has only its first floor, and work is progressing on the second floor. The subsequent phase will involve the construction of the Shikhar, the central dome, and the completion of five key Mandirs dedicated to the Ram Parivar.

Swami Gurudev Giriji explained that since Sri Ram is considered an incarnation of Bhagwan Vishnu, the plan involves constructing Mandirs for Bhagwan Ganapati, Shiva, Surya (the Sun god), and Mata Jagdamba in the four corners of the main Mandir. Additionally, a separate Mandir will be dedicated to Hanuman, the revered devotee of Sri Ram. Work is already underway on these Mandirs, with statues installed and finishing touches being applied.

Adjacent to the Sita rasoi, the kitchen of Mata Sita, a Mandir dedicated to Mata Annapurna, will be established. The meticulous planning and execution of these Mandirs aim to create a spiritual ambience that resonates with the divine essence of the epic Ramayana.

Outside the expansive Mandir complex, seven Mandirs will be constructed, paying homage to individuals who played significant roles in Sri Ram’s life. These include Saints Valmiki, Vashist, Vishwamitra, Devi Shavari, and the revered bird Jatayu, who sacrificed its life for Sri Ram. This visionary project seeks not only the central figures of the epic but also the supporting characters whose contributions enrich the narrative.

The consecration of Ram Lalla, the infant form of Sri Ram, attracted around 3 lakh devotees who flocked to Ayodhya to offer their prayers. Despite the challenging weather conditions, the devotion and enthusiasm of the worshippers added a special significance to the auspicious event. The “Pran Pratishtha” of Ram Lalla unfolded amidst massive celebrations, echoing across the country as devotees joined in the joyous occasion.

The inauguration of the Ram Mandir symbolises more than just the construction of a religious structure; it signifies the revival of Ayodhya as a prominent spiritual destination. The meticulous planning and execution of the Mandir complex and the associated 13 Mandirs underscore the commitment of the Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust to create a global spiritual hub that transcends boundaries and welcomes seekers from around the world.

As the doors of the Ram Mandir opened to the public, the fervour and anticipation among the devotees showcased the deep-rooted connection that millions share with Sri Ram. The transformative journey of Ayodhya from a historical city to a spiritual mecca is well underway, and the completion of these temples will undoubtedly cement its status as a global spiritual centre.
