In a significant move following his assumption of office, Mohan Yadav, the newly appointed Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh and leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has issued directives to curb the “unregulated use of loudspeakers in religious establishments and other public spaces.” Additionally, he has imposed a ban on meat sales “in the open,” as reported by PTI.

These directives, marking the initial executive orders of Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, were announced shortly after he officially assumed office. The bans on loudspeakers at religious places and open meat sales are set to be implemented promptly, aligning with the guidelines laid out by the Supreme Court and the National Green Tribunal.

Addressing concerns related to noise pollution, Chief Minister Yadav has established a flying squad in every district to monitor the sound levels of loudspeakers and DJ systems in use at religious sites.

The swearing-in ceremony for Mohan Yadav took place on Wednesday at the Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal, where Governor Mangubhai Patel administered the oath to the 58-year-old BJP leader. The event was attended by prominent figures, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, BJP president J P Nadda, and the outgoing Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Mohan Yadav, a three-time BJP MLA, has now become the 19th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh. His appointment also signifies the end of an era dominated by Shivraj Singh Chouhan, a stalwart of the BJP who served as Chief Minister four times and played a pivotal role in shaping the state’s politics for nearly two decades.

Notably, Mohan Yadav is the fourth OBC (Other Backward Classes) Chief Minister from the BJP in Madhya Pradesh since 2003, following Uma Bharti, Babulal Gaur, and Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

Reflecting on his tenure, former Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan expressed gratitude to the BJP for entrusting him with the responsibility for 18 years. “An ordinary worker was made the CM for 18 years by the BJP. The party gave me everything. Now, it is time for me to give something to the BJP,” Chouhan remarked during a recent press meeting.
