Chhattisgarh: Hours after a CAF personnel killed in an IED explosion in Narayanpur, another Jawan martyred in Kanker

Hours after, a Chhattisgarh Armed Force (CAF) personnel was martyred after he sustained a grave injury in an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast triggered by the Maoist (Naxal) in Narayanpur of Chhattisgarh on December 13. Another security personnel of the Border Security Force (BSF) was martyred in an IED explosion triggered by the ultras in the Kanker district on December 14.

According to the reports, the BSF personnel who got injured in an IED explosion triggered by the Maoist near Tekarapara pahadi area in Partapur of Kanker district succumbed to his injuries late December 14 afternoon. The martyred Jawan has been identified as Akhilesh Rai.

According to the reports, a BSF team was out on a routine area-dominating exercise in the Tekarapara pahadi area in Partapur when the Maoist triggered a blast, injuring a personnel of the security forces. The injured Jawan was then rushed to the Pankhajur health care centre, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Earlier in another such incident, a CAF jawan was also martyred after sustaining serious injuries in an IED blast near the Aamdai mines region of the Chhotedongar of Narayanpur. The deceased Jawan was later identified as Kamlesh Sahu, a resident of Shakti district. Another personnel identified as Vinay Kumar had also sustained injuries in the attack, following which he was rushed to nearby healthcare, where he was reportedly out of danger.

It is to be noted that the Maoists planted IEDs in the regions under their holds, harming the advancing party of the security forces during the counter-insurgency drives. It is worth mentioning here that a significant number of Security personnel and civilians have so far died in numerous explosions triggered by the extremists in the Maoist-affected regions of the country.
