In a distressing incident that unfolded on December 5th in the Barabanki region of Uttar Pradesh, the Uttar Pradesh Police acted swiftly, apprehending three suspects within 12 hours of a 22-year-old woman filing a police complaint. The victim, the daughter of a former state government official, was allegedly gang-raped by the accused identified as Satyam Mishra (22), Mohammad Suhail (23), and Mohammad Alam (31). The arrest was carried out near Sunni Inter College in the Bazarkhala area around 12:45 am on December 11.

The victim had approached the Wazirganj police station to report the incident, triggering immediate action by law enforcement. An FIR has been registered under IPC sections, including 376D (gang rape), 342, 323, 504, and 506, highlighting the severity of the charges against the perpetrators.

According to DCP Rahul Raj (West), the horrific incident transpired when the victim, seeking treatment for depression at the King George Medical University (KGMU), came into contact with Satyam, who operated a tea stall near the University. Exploiting her vulnerable state, Satyam offered to charge her phone in an ambulance parked nearby. Tragically, this marked the beginning of a harrowing ordeal for the young woman.

After leaving her phone to charge in the ambulance, the victim, along with Satyam, went to Daliganj when the ambulance was supposedly relocated. Subsequently, she was forced into a silver car by Satyam and two other accomplices, including the ambulance operator and two tea vendors. Satyam and his aides allegedly subjected the victim to intoxicants and liquor against her will.

The assailants then reportedly drove around the city for hours, subjecting the victim to brutal gang rape. They filmed derogatory videos of her, documenting the entire horrifying incident. The victim, in her complaint, stated that she was threatened with harm if she did not comply with their demands, emphasising that the perpetrators filmed the act.

Despite her pleas, the accused continued their assault, eventually dropping her off at Munshipulia and fleeing the scene. The victim, traumatised by the ordeal, reported the incident to the authorities.

The police, in their subsequent investigation, recovered the Wagon-R car used in the commission of the crime, along with two mobile phones and cash amounting to Rs 19,830. An ongoing probe seeks to uncover further details surrounding this heinous crime, as the accused face charges that reflect the severity of their actions.
