During the condolence meet, the RSS Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat, paid his respects to senior pracharak of the RSS, Sardar Chiranjeev Singh. He compared Sardar Ji to a shining jewel. Dr Bhagwat said that Sardar Chiranjeev Ji was such a great personality that he was unaffected by status, position, or physical strength; he had no worries about such things. He was of the nature that wherever he was, he would radiate light to enlighten the surroundings.

Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat mentioned that Sardar Ji served as a teacher in the Sangh. Although he was strict as a teaher, he was affectionate to everyone. His nature was very humble, gentle, and influential. Wherever he went, he became one with that place. Regarding Sardar Ji, Bhagwat Ji said, “Whether the sun rises in the east or sets in the west, its colour is always red.” People with saintly qualities don’t change their nature in any situation. Chiranjeev Singh was such a Pracharak, who dedicated his entire life for the Sangh.

Alok Kumar, working president of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), also paid tribute to Sardar Ji. He mentioned that Sardar Ji’s behaviour was very kind, and he kept everyone bound in the bonds of love. He belonged to the families of saints, had a great practise of singing, and his voice was very melodious. Alok Kumar spoke about Sardar Ji’s presence, stating that when he attended Dvitiya Varsh of Sangh, Sardar Ji was the Prakishak there. This was during the time when there was a wave of terrorism in Punjab, and every day there were killings of BJP and Sangh swayamsewaks. The Sangh taught us that it was not the fault of the Sikhs, but it was the fault of a few terrorists. Therefore, the entire society should not be held responsible for it. In this regard, Sardar Ji made a significant contribution during the Sannjhivālta incident. Later, Sardar Chiranjeev Singh Ji took over the leadership of the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat.

Sardar Chiranjeev Singh Ji, a senior Pracharak of the RSS, breathed his last in Ludhiana on November 20. He had been a prominent figure in the RSS, dedicating his life to the organisation and its principles.

Born on October 1, 1930, in Patiala to farmer Shri Harkaran Das (Tarlochan Singh) and Shrimati Dwaraki Devi (Jogendra Kaur), Chiranjeev Ji’s early life was marked by a deep connection to spirituality and reverence for saints and gurus. His mother, a schoolteacher, played a crucial role in his upbringing. Even before he started formal education, he was drawn to temples and gurudwaras, and it was after a visit to a local shakha with his friend Ravi in 1944 that he became deeply influenced by the discipline, prayers, and ethos of the Sangh.
