According to the statement issued by the Election Officer Prof CN Patel from the Central Office of ABVP, the tenure of both posts will be one year. Both office bearers will assume their responsibility during the 69th National Conference of ABVP scheduled to be held in Delhi from December 7- 10, 2023.
Dr Rajsharan Shahi hails from Gorakhpur district of Uttar Pradesh. He completed his PhD in Education. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Education at the Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Lucknow. He has written and edited six books. Till now, 109 of his research papers and articles have been published in national & international research journals and seminars. His articles have been featured in the daily newspapers on subjects related to education.
He has been an Associate at the prestigious Indian Institute of Advanced Studies, Shimla. In 2017, he was ho¬noured with the Yogiraj Baba Gambhir Nath Gold Medal for Best Teacher by the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh. He is a member of various important educational committees including the National Education Policy Implementation Committee in the state of Uttar Pradesh. A deep thinker of educational and social issues, he has played an important role in taking forward the organisation work in Uttar Pradesh. Since 1989 he has been in contact with ABVP during his student life. As a teacher, Karyakarta, till now he has held the responsibilities of Gorakhpur Mahanagar President and Goraksh Prant President, National Vice President etc. He has been re-elected as the National President of ABVP for the session 2023-24. He resides in Lucknow.
Yagywalkya Shukla hails from the Garhwa district of Jharkhand. He has finished his PhD in Geography from Ranchi University. His research was on the cultural geographical study of the Korba tribe of the Palamu division of Jharkhand. He received a Gold Medal for his Master’s Degree in Geography from Nilambar-Pitamber University. He has been elected President of the Students’ Union of Shri Jagjit Singh Namdhari College, Garhwa, and elected Vice President of the Students Union of Ranchi University. He has represented our country in the Indian Youth Delegation to Sri Lanka organised by the Government of India in 2018. He has been in touch with the Vidyarthi Parishad since school life and working as a full-time activist since 2009.
He has played an important role in providing opportunities to the tribal students through various successful experiments like ‘Jutan’, thereby defeating the conspiracies that tried to mislead the youth of Jharkhand. He has held various important responsibilities including Ranchi Mahanagar Organising Secretary, Jharkhand State Organising Secretary, Member of the Central Working Committee, and Zonal Joint Organising Secretary of Bihar Zone. And, for the upcoming session 2023-24, he has been re-elected as the National General Secretary. His headquarters is in Patna.
