In the Surat textile market, manufacturing enterprises traditionally adhered to a distribution model that exclusively served wholesalers and established dealers, effectively limiting the access of smaller traders and retailers to their products. Ajay Ajmera, however, was resolute in his commitment to challenge this conventional practice. His vision was to establish a business platform where textile merchants of all scales, whether big or small, could easily access high-quality textile products at competitive prices. In pursuit of this goal, Ajmera Fashion was founded in the year 2011.

Initial Challenges

When one takes unconventional actions, opposition often becomes a natural consequence. Ajmera Fashion, operating as a manufacturer, defied conventional practices by directly supplying goods to retailers. This innovative approach led to the dissatisfaction of prominent wholesalers and established dealers who ceased their business with the company. Consequently, even the company’s investors expressed their displeasure, leaving Ajay Ajmera isolated in his pursuit.

Expanding Within & Overseas

However, undeterred by these challenges, he unwaveringly maintained his position. Today, his steadfast commitment has borne fruit, with over 100,000 traders across Bharat participating in the clothing business by aligning themselves with Ajmera Fashion. Furthermore, the company’s global reach has expanded significantly, as it now exports its products to more than 30 countries.

Export and Sales of Products

Ajmera Fashion has a global presence, with exports spanning across 30+ countries worldwide. The company’s primary product range includes sarees, suits, lehengas, children’s apparel, men’s wear, as well as home-furnishing textiles, among others.

Background of Founder

Ajay Ajmera hails from a humble middle-class background. His father, a farmer and a small-scale entrepreneur, instilled in him the values of hard work and determination. He left his studies after completing the 11th grade and set forth to Surat in pursuit of his dreams.

Future Plan

Ajay Ajmera envisions a future for Ajmera Fashion that transcends the boundaries of innovation and growth in the textile industry. With a steadfast commitment to delivering high-quality textile products and unique designs, he aims to position Ajmera Fashion as an industry leader on the global stage.

In line with his aspirations, Ajay Ajmera is on a mission to establish Ajmera Fashion’s retail franchise store ‘Ajmera Trends’ as a recognised and trusted brand throughout India.

Furthermore, he is committed to creating job opportunities and supporting local artisans and weavers, contributing to the socio-economic development of the regions where Ajmera Fashion and Ajmera Trends operate. The cause of women’s empowerment is also very close to his heart.

By fostering a culture of sustainability, innovation, and inclusivity, Ajay Ajmera aims to leave a lasting legacy in the textile industry, all while establishing Ajmera Fashion and Ajmera Trends as names synonymous with quality and style.
