According to reports, unknown assailants killed two brothers in Samastipur while four other persons were also killed in separate incidents in Samastipur, Khagaria and Saran districts.

In the first incident that unfolded in Khagaria, two youths were reportedly lynched to death in Mirgunj Bahriyar, under Gogri police station limits. According to the reports, the deceased youths have serious injury marks on their heads.

Taking to Twitter (X), Khagaria police in tweet informed that upon receiving information a police team was immediately dispatched to the spot, and the bodies of the youths were sent to Khagaria district hospital.

Double murder in Samastipur

Meanwhile in another incident two brothers identified as Sumit Chaudhary (36) and Amit Chaudhary (28) were also killed by unknown assailants late Wednesday evening. The incident occurred when the brothers were returning home after closing their ration shop when unknown attackers fired shots on them.

The brothers were then rushed to the sub divisional hospital Rosda, where the doctors declared them dead. The police have initiated an enquiry into the matter and CCTV footage are also being examined to identify the miscreants.

In another incident reported from Samastipur itself, a poultry farm owner was also killed by three assailants. According to the details provided by the police the attackers arrived on a motorbike who killed Prem Kumar Singh alias Jiwaksh Singh at his Madhepura Goraila Chaur farm.

Learning about the firing incident, a police team immediately reached the spot and rushed Prem Singh to sub divisional hospital Dalsinghsarai where he was declared brought dead. Raids are being conducted to nab the accused, informed Samastipur police.

Vegetable vendor killed in Saran

In another incident, a vegetable vendor identified as Surendra Rai, a resident of Pojhi village under Derna police station was killed by unknown men on Wednesday, October 18. According to the details, Surendra was stabbed by a knife and the assistant threw his body behind the Panchayat Bhawan.

Upon receiving the information, a police team reached the spot and took the body under its custody. Upon examining the CCTV footage in the vicinity, the police identified a man walking with the deceased following which the police detained the former and also raided his house. An FIR in this regard has also been filed, said Saran police in a press release.

Meanwhile, in two separate incidents reported from Vaishali and Khagaria district, shots were also fired upon a couple of persons on Wednesday, leaving them injured. Later on taking to twitter the police informed that the person injured in Khagaria was rushed to the hospital where he is being treated. While Vaishali police have arrested the accused who fired upon one Ajay Rai of Patepur.

It is to be noted that the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the state has been continuously accusing the Mahagathbandhan government for failing to contain the sprut in crimes such as murder, loot, crime against women and communal flare-ups. The law and order situation in the state has also led to a tug of war between the ruling alliance and the BJP lately, where the latter had alleged the ruling government for appeasement politics.
