On October 7, Islamist terrorists of Hamas attacked Israel in the morning hours. They entered the country from land, water and sky after their base in Gaza launched thousands of missiles at Israel. Following the barbaric attack on Israel, the global leaders except the Gulf countries supported the country and called this an ‘act of terrorism and that Israel has every right to defend’.
The Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, also condemned the attack and stood in solidarity with Israel. He said the country has all right to defend themselves against this attack.
In a post on social media platform X he wrote, “Canada strongly condemns the current terrorist attacks against Israel. These acts of violence are completely unacceptable. We stand with Israel and fully support its right to defend itself.”

Shockingly, when Trudeau made these statements, his own countrymen reminded him about how his government contributed 50 million dollars to the ‘irredeemably flawed’ United Nations Palestinian Refugee Agency (UNPRA).
A Canadian journalist wrote on social media platform X, “You personally directed $50,000,000 to Hamas-controlled Gaza after other democracies cut them off for corruption and terrorism. You took Canadian tax dollars and gave them to Jew-killers. You literally funded this attack.”

Readers should know that, under Trudeau’s leadership, the Canadian government allocated a substantial 50 million dollars over a two-year period in support of the UN body’s “health and education efforts.”
In their justification, the Trudeau administration argued that this contribution would contribute to regional stability and address issues of poverty, food insecurity, and unemployment. They also contended that the 50 million dollars would enhance impartiality within the UNPRA and its operations.
It’s important to note that Israel has repeatedly accused the UNPRA of exacerbating the ongoing conflict with Palestine and fostering animosity towards the Jewish State. The lingering concern revolves around whether funds designated for the “welfare” of Palestinians might be diverted towards activities associated with terrorism.
50 million dollars utilised to strengthen terrorist activities
An illustrative case involves a Gaza aid worker named Mohammed Halabi, who diverted 50 million dollars of humanitarian aid towards the Islamic extremist group Hamas. These funds were then utilized in the construction of tunnels and rockets for offensive actions against the State of Israel.
Israel’s Shin Bet intelligence agency identified him as a “significant figure within the terrorist and military wing of Hamas.” Halabi, who was employed by the global charity ‘World Vision,’ funnelled 60 per cent of the funds to Hamas militants through a well-organized and methodical network.
Additionally, this so-called ‘aid worker’ established projects ostensibly for the benefit of farmers, fishermen, and individuals with disabilities, but in reality, these were conduits for embezzling humanitarian aid. He also procured thousands of tons of iron ore under the guise of relief efforts, which were subsequently handed over to Hamas for the covert construction of tunnels. In June 2022, Mohammed Halabi was convicted on 13 charges.
A report by The Times of Israel stated, “Israel closely supervises aid to try to ensure it bypasses the terror group. But the Hamas-run government benefits from foreign countries footing the bill for schools, hospitals and infrastructure, allowing it to conserve its own resources, including the taxes and customs it collects.”
Hamas attacked Israel
On October 7, a devastating conflict erupted between the terrorist organisation Hamas and Israel, resulting in a tragic toll of at least 300 casualties and over 1,000 injuries.
Hamas unleashed a barrage of over 5,000 rockets from the Gaza Strip into Israel, concurrently seizing several Israeli soldiers near the border. In a video statement, Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared that Israel was now in a state of war and cautioned that Hamas would face severe consequences for instigating an attack on Israel.
He stated, “We are in a state of war, not a mere operation. Hamas has launched a treacherous surprise attack against the State of Israel and its citizens. I have issued orders to first eliminate the terrorists who infiltrated our settlements and have ordered a significant mobilization of reserves. The enemy will face a cost unlike any they have experienced before.”
Following the significant attack on Israel from the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences via his official handle, expressing solidarity with the innocent victims of the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel. Consul General of Israel, Kobbi Shoshani, also extended gratitude to India for its stance.

It is noteworthy that Prime Minister Narendra Modi explicitly referred to it as a terrorist attack. This strong acknowledgement from the highest office indicates that India designates Hamas as a terrorist organisation.
