Nagarnar steel plant owned by people of Bastar, Congress spreading rumors, wants to divide Hindus and poor: PM Modi

Addressing a huge gathering at Jagdalpur of Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party and said that while the BJP is dedicated for the upliftment of the tribals, the Congress party refrains from participating in their upliftment.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Nagarnar steel plant and assured that the people of the tribal heartland are the real owners of the RS 24000 crore plant. The announcement came in the wake of allegations made by the Congress party against the Union Government for pushing for the privatisation of Nagarnar steel plant.

Launching a series of attacks on the Congress from the tribal heartland of Chhattisgarh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after offering prayers at the sacred Danteshwari Mata temple on Tuesday, said, “while the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) created the state of Chhattisgarh, a separate department for tribals (Vanvasi/Adivasi/Janjati), allotted separate budget, made a whole separate system for the Vanvasi community, the Congress on the other hand always neglected the people of Bastar.”

“The BJP opened an engineering college, and medical college and increased the budget for Vanvasi community manifolds. Earlier, the congress was giving a single rupee. We started giving Rupees five”, said Prime Minister Modi.

Further while lambasting the Congress and other parties of the newly formed Indian National Democratic Inclusive Alliance, Prime Minister Modi said, “Since yesterday, Congress leaders are saying ‘jitni aabadi utna haq’, I was wondering what the former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh would be thinking. He used to say that the minority has the first right to the country’s resources, but now Congress is saying that the population of the community will decide who will have the first right to the country’s resources.

So now do they (Congress) want to decrease the rights of the minority? Do they want to remove the minorities? So, should the Hindus, who have the largest population, come forward and take all their rights? I am repeating that the Congress party is no longer being run by Congress people. Senior leaders of Congress are sitting with their mouths shut, neither are they asked, nor do they dare to speak after seeing all this. Now Congress has been outsourced.”

Congress is being run by such people who are hand in glove with the anti-national forces. Congress, at any cost, wants to divide the Hindus and the poor of the country. Till date, the Congress party has not disclosed about its secret deal with the foreign country. I want to alert the countrymen from the latest conspiracy of Congress and their alliance parties and as far as rights are concerned, I will say that the poor of the country have the first right on the resources of Bharat.

Further, while slamming the Congress party for wide-scale corruption and spurt in crimes. The PM quoted that the crime rate is at its zenith in Chhattisgarh, the state has reached among top in murder and is competing with Congress-ruled Rajasthan in murder, loot and violence against women.

The PM also attacked the Bhupesh Baghel led government for wide scale corruption and irregularities in Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission and said that the Congress party has snatched the job opportunities from the youths to settle their own kith and kin. I want to assure you that if the BJP forms a government it would investigate the PSC scam and no matter how powerful the culprits are, Modi will put them behind the bars.

Upliftment of Vanvasis

The prime minister further enlisted a number of schemes launched by the union government and said earlier there were a handful of forest produce products which fell under ‘Minimum Support Price’ (MSP) limit but the BJP government has extended it to around 90 products.

Earlier when our Vanvasi brothers and sisters used to reach the market with precious forest produce like ‘Chironji’, they had been sent back after being provided a few packets of salt only. The BJP government started giving salt free of cost in the ration shops only then the exploitation practiced by the Congress ended.

The union government has also transferred a whopping one lakh crores to the farmers of Chhattisgarh for rice, the Congress party is betraying you on the name of rice price, every grain of rice is bought by the central government. The Congress has also shut down the schemes launched by the BJP for ‘Tendu Patta (coromandel ebony) pluckers’, we will look for a better system of management for the Tendu Patta pluckers’.

We increased the scholarship for Vanvasis students to two and a half times more. We opened 300 model schools so that the children of Vanvasi families could get quality education in their neighbourhood. The BJP is running an aspirational districts scheme for development now going further we are now identifying aspirational villages in which we will commence projects of education, health and employment.

Nagarnar steel plant

The prime minister further also attacked the Congress party over the Nagarnar steel plant of Jagdalpur, which was inaugurated by the prime minister earlier in the day and said that one of the country’s biggest steel plants has been inaugurated by the government, everyone is filled up with the pride but look no minister, even the chief minister opted not to participate in the work of your welfare.

The people of the Bastar have been demanding this steel plant for decades, but Congress opted not to head on your demands due to commission and corruption. The land of Bastar produces one of the finest iron ore of the world, but still the Congress preferred to produce only raw material for commission.

स्टील प्लांट के कारण बस्तर और आसपास के 50000 नौजवानों को रोजगार मिलेगा। केंद्र सरकार की प्राथमिकता बस्तर जैसे आकांक्षी जिलों का विकास करना है।

We have invested a total of Rs 24000 crore in the steel plant which will pave the way for employment of around 50-55 k youths of Bastar and adjoining regions. Congress party is intentionally spreading rumours over the Nagarnar steel plant for the benefit of their own people and their kith and kin. Though, it’s a guarantee of Modi that this steel plant of Bastar is yours, neither Modi is the owner of this steel plant nor will I allow any other politician to take over it, only the people of Bastar are the owners of this steel plant.

It is to be noted that earlier, the Congress party had given a call for a shutdown in Bastar over the alleged privatisation of the Nagarnar steel plant and alleged that the union government led by Narendra Modi is planning to privatise the plant.

Earlier attacking the Union Government, the state unit of Chhattisgarh Congress party while taking to Twitter alleged that the Modi government wants to snatch the rights of the people of Bastar by privatizing the Nagarnar steel plant.

#नगरनार_बचाओ pic.twitter.com/VcUeOTkoO2

“It’s our resolution that if the union government could not run the Nagarnar steel plant, then they should hand it over to the state government, we will run it, but the Modi government wants to hand over the plant to their friends, which we will not accept”, said the Congress party further in the tweet.”

Meanwhile, speaking with the Organiser, Kedar nath Gupta, spokesperson of the BJP, said that ” the Congress is doing mere politics, the union government has upgraded the steel plants across the country, In Nagarnar there would be a huge opportunity for employment for the brothers and sister of the Vanvasi community. Now, the chief minister is doing all this to instigate the Vanvasi community.

Further, when confronted about the allegations put up by Rahul Gandhi that when Modi ji pushes a button the money got transferred to the accounts of his friends, the BJP leader replied that as far as the Jal, Jungle, Jameen is concerned, our brothers and sisters also need roads, school and other basic necessities which has been so far ensured only by the BJP.

The allegations of privatisation are inspired by politics and it is completely false. I advise the chief minister to focus on the development of Bastar, he should care about the targeted killing being carried out by the Maoists, violence against the women in the remote regions rather than promoting rumours, concluded Gupta.
