On September 19, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat installed Shrimant Dagdusheth halwai Ganpati in Pune, Maharashtra.

The sankalp (resolution) has been taken in front of Shri Ganesh that there should be harmony all over the world and Bharat should become an affluent nation and take the world on the path of peace. Every person has to make an effort to realise this resolution, said Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat.

The public idol of Shri Ganesh of Pune’s famous Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati was installed by Sarsanghchalak Dr Mohan Bhagwat. He gave the above message for the Ganesh devotees at this occasion.

Sarsanghchalak Dr Bhagwat said that the sankalp has been taken in front of Shree Ganesh that the entire world should be free of problems, there should be goodness in the world and there should be harmony. All of us have to endeavour to bring this resolution into reality because the God has the power to realise this resolution but so have to contribute our part in it. Therefore all of us have to strive for this goal.

It is notable that Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati is a historic temple in Pune. The public Ganesh festival is celebrated by Suvarnayug Tarun Mandal trust on behalf of the temple. The mandal has put up the replica of Shri Ram temple at Ayodhya.

Meanwhile, the public Ganeshotsav took off in Pune with traditional fervour. Idols of first five Ganeshas in Pune namely Kasba Ganpati, Tambdi Jogeshwari Ganpati, Guruji Talim Mandal, Tulshibaug Ganpati and Kesari Wada Ganpati were installed after taking out grand processions. Dhol Tasha and lezims were played in traditional manner while colourful rangoli designs were made at many places.
