On September 7, a man was beaten to death by an Islamist mob in the Ghaziabad district of Uttar Pradesh. He was attacked over suspicion of theft. The man died on the spot as the attackers fled the scene. Following his death the family registered a complaint and then three identified accused were arrested. The police investigation is on in this case.

As per the press note shared by the Ghaziabad police, the case was registered at the Teelamod police station of the Ghaziabad district by the mother of the victim. The attack was launched in the Tulsi Niketan area of the Sahibabad region in Ghaziabad.

As per the police, they received a call from Dail 112 on the night of September 7. When they reached on spot, they found a man lying in the bushes. He was dead and identified as Anil, son of Pappu. Based on the complaint lodged by his family, the police began investigations.

It came to light that the accused had thrashed him over allegations of theft.

The attackers have been identified as Akhlakh Khan, a native of Badayun, Subhan Khan, a native of Ghaziabad; and Naushad, a native of the Shalimar Garden area of Ghaziabad. After the FIR was lodged the police arrested them all.

DCP Trans-Hindon in a video statement informed that, “On 07.09.23, at around 08:00, information was received through dial 112 about the dead body of Anil, son of Pappu, aged about 23-24 years, lying under police station Tila Mode area. The police immediately reached the spot and took possession of the body and sent it for post-mortem.”

“The family members of the deceased allege that Anil was beaten on the suspicion of theft due to which he died. On the basis of the complaint of the family, a case has been registered under relevant sections. Three accused have been arrested. A team has been set up to arrest the other accused,” he added.
