The Border Road Organisation (BRO) has constructed a new road of 8.6 km length from Thandikasi to Purna village, which is close to the Line of Control (LoC).

The nearby area consists of tribal people in villages like Thandikassi, Lehran, Dadonni, Nallah, and Pukharni.

According to the BRO, with the construction of the new road, medical facilities have become easily available, and ambulances are reaching the hospitals on time. Schools and college students are reaching the schools easily in Noushera and Rajouri.

After the construction of roads in border areas, people have started small business shops on roadsides, and maximum number of labourers are getting a job in nearby villages under BRO, who were looking for jobs earlier.

People living in the border areas have thanked the Government of India and BRO for the development works in the valley.

Tej Singh, BRO Sector in-charge Engineer, said, “When this road was not there, people had to walk 8 to 10 km and doctors had to suffer a lot to reach the villages to treat the animals, but after the development of the road, it has become very easy for doctors to reach them. Local people have cooperated with us a lot. This is an army road but local people are also getting the benefit of it.”

“We thank the Government and BRO for this, we can do our work now. We have been given many benefits under this government. This is a border area. This road is very beneficial for our children and for all of us,” Mushtaq Ahmed, a local said.
