The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sarsanghchalak, Mohan Bhagwat, celebrated Raksha Bandhan at RSS Headquarters in Maharashtra’s Nagpur on August 31.

The staff members applied tilak and tied the sacred thread to the RSS Sarsanghchalak. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma attended Raksha Bandhan Programme at Garden Park of HCM’s Residence at Dispur in Guwahati today.

Celebrating sibling bond on Raksha Bandhan, school girls tied rakhis to Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a school in New Delhi on August 30. The school children greeted PM Modi with smiles as he entered the classroom and tied the sacred thread to him.

CM Yogi Adityanath celebrated Raksha Bandhan with young beneficiaries of CM Kanya Sumangala Yojana yesterday.

In Jammu and Kashmir’s Udhampur district, schoolgirls tied rakhis to CRPF jawans.

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tied rakhi to former Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray at his residence yesterday ahead of the meeting of the INDIA bloc in Mumbai.

Every year in India, the festival of Raksha Bandhan is observed to celebrate the unbreakable bond between brothers and sisters, which is commemorated by sisters who tie Rakhi to their sibling’s wrist.

This year, Raksha Bandhan was celebrated on the night of August 30 and the festival of Rakhi was not celebrated the entire day or in the morning hours like previous years, but rather during the night hours.

Raksha Bandhan is observed on the full moon day, also known as Poornima Tithi, of the Shukla Paksha in Shravan Maas (Sawan month).
