The Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre witnessed a significant commemorative event on August 25, 2023, as the President of India, Smt Droupadi Murmu, unveiled a commemorative postage stamp to honour the legacy of Dadi Prakashmani. This notable initiative, undertaken by the Department of Posts, Ministry of Communications, falls under the umbrella of the ‘My Stamp’ campaign. The occasion held profound significance, as it marked the 16th anniversary of Dadi Prakashmani’s passing.

In her address, the President extolled the enduring impact of Dadi Prakashmani, attributing her with the propagation of Indian values and culture both domestically and internationally, primarily through her spiritual endeavours. Serving as the helm of the Brahma Kumaris, she steered the organisation into becoming the world’s largest women-led spiritual movement. The President highlighted Dadi Prakashmani’s unwavering commitment, resilience, and guidance during testing times, showcasing her exemplary leadership.

Amid the reflective atmosphere, the President imparted a fundamental truth: the transient nature of life and the indelible mark left by one’s actions. Emphasising the significance of altruistic deeds for the betterment of society, she acknowledged that while Dadi ji might have transcended the physical realm, her spiritual presence and benevolent character remain etched in memories. Her profound teachings, centred around the welfare of humanity, are poised to perpetually inspire forthcoming generations.

Shifting gears, the President turned her attention to the recent triumph of the Chandrayaan-3 mission. The accomplishment, she noted, resonates as an unprecedented achievement brought forth by India’s scientific community. A monumental feat was realised as India clinched the distinction of being the pioneer nation to reach the Moon’s South Pole. Expressing optimism, the President projected that the Chandrayaan-3 mission would yield novel insights from the lunar landscape, promising substantial global benefits.

In essence, the commemorative stamp unveiling ceremony not only paid tribute to the remarkable life of Dadi Prakashmani but also showcased India’s stride in scientific exploration. The President’s words resonated as a testament to the enduring impact of individuals like Dadi Prakashmani and the nation’s unwavering commitment to scientific advancement. As the event unfolded against the backdrop of the Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre, it encapsulated the nation’s veneration for its spiritual leaders and its ascent on the global stage of scientific discovery.
