Jammu & Kashmir: Shopian Police, Army’s 44 RR and 14 Bn CRPF undertake a joint operation, arrest LeT terrorist

Jammu & Kashmir Police, on August 22, in a joint operation with security forces, busted a terrorist module and arrested a terrorist associate linked to the proscribed terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Shopian.

The Police recovered incriminating materials, arms and ammunition, including one 40 mm Pakistan-origin RPG, one RPG grenade and two Boosters from the possession of Shabir Ah Mir.

“Joint forces of Shopian Police, Army’s 44 RR and 14 Bn CRPF during a CASO busted a terrorist module in Nazninpura Shopian and arrested a terrorist associate of the LeT network namely Shabir Ah Mir and recovered arms and ammunition including one 40 mm Pak origin RPG, one RPG grenade and two Boosters from his possession,” Jammu & Kashmir Police said.

A case has been registered, and further investigation is underway.

Earlier on June 13, A terrorist associate of Lashkar-e-Taiba was arrested by Bandipora Police in a joint operation with Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), informed Jammu & Kashmir Police.

According to officials, the Bandipora Police, jointly with 13 Rashtriya Rifles and 45Bn Central Reserve Police Force, arrested a terrorist associate of LeT at Baharabad Hajin. The Police recovered two Chinese hand grenades from the arrested accused.
