The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2023 is one of the toughest management aptitude tests which paves the way for the candidates to the Indian Institute of Management and other coveted management institutes in the country. Most of the aspiring candidates  aim to crack the CAT exam in the first attempt. However, in order to do so, one needs to know some important tips so that they can crack the CAT exam and at the same time score a good percentile. Scoring a good percentile in the CAT exam will pave the way  for the candidate to get a call from the IIMs.

CAT 2023 Syllabus – Know the important topics

First and foremost the candidates must ensure that they are well versed with the CAT syllabus. They should know what are the topics in each section from which the questions will be asked in the CAT 2023 exam. Once the candidates are well versed with the syllabus, they will be able to mentally prepare themselves as to how much time they need to give to each section while preparing for the CAT exam. Therefore, it is very important that if one wants to crack the CAT exam in the first attempt then they should know the CAT syllabus properly.

Be well versed with the CAT exam pattern  

The exam pattern of CAT mainly comprises the total number of questions that would be asked in each section, time duration, marking scheme. Also in the CAT exam pattern, candidates get to know what is the mode in which the CAT 2023 entrance test will be conducted. By knowing the CAT exam pattern well in advance, candidates will be able to draw a plan for their preparation.

In order to crack the CAT 2023 exam in the first attempt, it is important for the candidates to know that they study from the right books.  This is very important as the candidates prepare for the CAT exam. Studying from too many books might lead to confusion. Each individual is the best judge of their capabilities and how much time they would take to finish the syllabus of each section. Time management is the key to success in this exam. Candidates should not leave anything for the last minute. They should merely focus on revision during the fag end of preparation of the exam.

Meanwhile, on the day of the CAT 2023 exam, candidates should try to first solve those questions about which they are confident and then focus on the other questions. One should not spend too much time on each question.

Take CAT Mock Tests

Those who want to crack the CAT exam in the first attempt, must ensure that they take the CAT mock tests so that they can assess their level of preparation for the exam. There are CAT mock tests for various sections also. Candidates must take at least two to three mock tests every week and identify their weak and strong areas and accordingly work on it. This will help them to score well in the CAT exam.
