UP STF has also mentioned that it has been found that the terror suspect had sent photographs and WhatsApp messages of security related places in India to ISI as well as to the terrorist organisations.  STF’s Meerut field unit led by ASP Brijesh Kumar Singh acted on a tip off and arrested Kaleem.

Sections under which Kaleem has been booked

The UP Police has booked Kaleem under following sections of the Indian Penal Code, IPC sections 420 (fraud), 121-A (waging war against the country), 153-A (promoting enmity between two groups on the ground of religion), 295-A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs) and sections of Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act.

Startling revelations made by Kaleem

During the interrogation, the UP STF officials found that the terror suspect Kaleem had gone to meet the ISI handlers. Though the foreigner claimed that he had gone to Pakistan to meet his relatives.

It was five days ago that Kaleem had returned from Pakistan  and post his return he was still in touch with the ISI handlers who had assured him that they would provide him with firearms and ammunition  to carry out anti-India activities.

The STF also recovered a Pakistani mobile number purchased on a forged ID from the terror suspect and he used this to connect with the ISI handlers.

A senior STF official also mentioned that Kaleem was the third eldest among his five brothers and one of his elder brothers – Tehseem Ahmad – was also involved in terror activities.

Tehseem was in regular touch with Pakistan-based terrorist Sheikh Khalid Hafiz alias Dilshad Mirza and was working towards launching Islamic war to establish Shariat law in the country.

Tehseem was also involved in spying for the ISI by sending photographs of the Indian Army’s security installations in Anoopgarh, Rajasthan.
