Police conducted medical examinations of the minor victim on August 8 after the case was registered. But the accused Arabic teacher has been absconding since August 8. After conducting raids in several places, Dhubri police activated its informer network to trace the absconding accused. On August 11, based on specific information, Dhubri police conducted a raid in the Beguntali area under Gauripur police station and arrested Ashif Sheikh alias Dipu in the early hours of Thursday night.
