Videos calling for the beheading of kaffirs by a social media influencer, Syed Ali Akbar Jagirdar, went viral on social media. The influencer is based in Congress-led Karnataka. Some of his videos explicitly call for the killing of non-Muslims (Kaffirs). Following the rage on social media, the Karnataka police registered an FIR (First Information Report) against the culprit, and he has been apprehended.

The Videos

Syed Ali Akbar Jagirdar is a native of Yadgiri district in Karnataka. He runs a social media account on the platform Instagram with the handle name syeds_jagirdar_v18. He has as many as 9019 followers. A little search on his handle suggests he works for a construction company called Kohinoor Solar Construction and Solutions.

Details of the accused as accessed by Organiser (Instagram)

There are a number of short videos posted on his account that are filled with moral teachings for every Muslim. From Hadith to claims of uniting Muslims, Syed talks about everything. Some of his videos are filled with hatred against the Hindu community.

In one of his videos, Syed can be seen saying, “We are Sunnati and Jamatis; since childhood, we have been taught only one thing, tolerate everything in life, except for any abusive work against the founder of Islam (Nabi ki shaan me gustakhi)”.

He is Syed Ali Akbar Jagirdar (syeds_jagirdar_v18), a popular influencer from congress ruled Karnataka, urging his community members to kill Kafirs (non-muslims)

“If anyone dares to do that, we have been told to chop their heads immediately,” he added.

Nowadays, Muslims have started moral policing, where they confront burqa-clad women if found with a Hindu man. This is a frame narrative built recently where Islamist mobs attacked some Hindu men, calling it case of ‘Bhagwa Love Trap’ a flawed counter to genuine cases of ‘Love Jihad’. Some of the cases of alleged Bhagwa love trap reported by Organiser can be found here, and here.

Referring to these cases of the so-called Bhagwa love trap, Syed made a video and said, “Those who are running behind our daughters and sisters, if you are a man, come to the ground, just for 15 minutes” (In the background, the video of AIMIM chief Owaisi plays where he is laughing over his brothers ‘15 minutes’ remark).

Notably, the younger brother of Asaduddin Owaisi and AIMIM MLA Akbaruddin Owaisi in 2013 said, that if police is removed for 15 minutes, we (Muslims) will finish 100 crore Hindus.

In another video, Syed said, “Those who abuse Muslims should know that their tactics will work in this world only, in the afterlife, the kaffirs will burn in Jahnnum (eternal hellfire).”

These are some of the videos where Syed is issuing threats to non-Muslims. Organiser also checked his Instagram page and found that he also promotes the Bheem-Meem Unity. Some of his videos can be seen here and here.

The police action

After the videos featuring Syed were posted by a verified Twitter handle of an influencer, Ashwini Shrivastava the netizens called for action. As the pressure mounted the Karnataka police registered a case against the accused and arrested him.

On August 9, Organiser called the Yadgiri Rural police station. The Station House Officer, Mahantesh Patil said, the accused Akbar Syed Bahadur Ali (23) and Mohammad Ayaz (21) have been booked for posting provocative posts against Hindus.

He added a First Information Report (number–115/2023) has been registered by the Yadgiri Rural police station against the culprits. They both have been booked under IPC sections 153 (provoking) and 505(2) (Committing offence relating to place of worship).

Replying to a verified Twitter account the police wrote, “Registered a case in Yadagiri Town PS under section 153 IPC and 505/2 IPC and Arrested Akbar Syed Bahadur Ali 23 yrs and MD Ayaz 21 yrs who have posted provocative reels in social media urging his community members to kill kafirs…….further investigation going on @DgpKarnataka”

FIR has been registered in @YadgiriPolice Yadgiri Town PS. Accused have been arrested and further investigation is being carried out.https://t.co/qoKJXtnpD1
