Indian Railways Jobs: More than 2.4 lakh vacancies announced for various posts in different categories

The Indian Railways is on a hiring spree for various positions in different categories. Candidates who are seeking to apply for jobs in Indian Railways, can check the details pertianing to vacancies, eleigibility criteria and registration details.

The Indian Railways recruitment website issued a notice in which they have mentioned that they will be filling vacancies under Group A, B, C and D soon. Presently, there are 2,48,895 vacancies in all zones of the Railway in Group C posts while 2,070 posts are vacant in Group A & B posts. The vacancies are aimed at filling the posts of Safety staff, Assistant Station Masters (ASM), Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC), and Ticket Collectors (TC).

The positions for which the Indian Railways will carry the recruitment drive is divided into two categories namely Gazetted and non-gazetted posts. Group ‘A’ and Group ‘B’ posts are included in Gazetted category and Non-Gazetted, encompass Group ‘C’ and ‘D’ posts.

Indian Railways Recruitment: Educational Qualifications required for various vacancies

Candidates who are aspiring to apply for various posts in different groups can check the details regarding the academic qualifications that is mentioned below:

Group A : In this category, only those candidates will be eligible to apply who have cleared the UPSC Civil Services Exam, Engineering Service Exam, and Combined Medical Service Examination.

Group B : Group B positions include Section Officers Grade positions. These are upgraded roles from Group ‘C’ railway employees on a deputation basis.

Group C: In the Group C Category, the roles the vacancies are filled for the following positions:

  • Station Master
  • Ticket Collector
  • Clerk, Commercial Apprentice
  • Safety staff
  • Traffic Apprentice
  • Various Engineering posts (Electrical, Signal & Telecommunication, Civil, Mechanical), among others.

Group D: The vacancies that are included in the Group D category include:

  • Track-man
  • Helper
  • Assistant Points Man
  • Safaiwala / Safaiwali
  • Gunman
  • Peon
  • Other positions across different cells and boards within the railway department

Know how to apply for Indian Railways Jobs 2023

All those who are willing to take part in the recruitment drive of the Indian Railways can check the steps that are given below to fill the RRB application form 2023:

Step 1: First and foremost visit the official website of Indian Railways that is “indianrailways.gov.in”

Step 2: Select the desired RRB Region, RRC, or metro rail option

Step 3: Choose the specific region or department for which one wishes to apply

Step 4: Go through the recruitment section and carefully review the Indian railways recruitment notification

Step 5: Now move towards the RRB 2023 application form and fill all the required details

Step 6: Candidates must keep the Aadhaar Card ready as it is mandatory while filling the application form of RRB 2023

Step 7: Pay the fees for RRB registration form 2023 and now click on the submit button

Step 8: Take the hard copy of the filled RRB application form

Indian Railways is one of the largest employers in the country and as of February 1, 2023, there are a total of 11.75 lakh employees.
