Acting on a tip-off the joint team launched an operation and recovered as many as seven Improvised Explosive Device (IED) along with continuity tester, mine charger, walkie-talkie and other material used in IED making from the possession of the Maoist.

The search operation was launched days after the Chaibasa police in separate operations had recovered similar materials near forest of Rela Paral village under Goilkera police station limits of insurgency-hit West Singhbhum in Jharkhand.

Earlier in a separate development police in the neighboring Khunti district had also nabbed as many as five cadres of the People’s Liberation Front of India (PLFI), a splinter group of the outlawed CPI Maoist on August 6.

The development occurred when security forces on a tip-off raided a forest under Marhu police station limits and arrested the Maoist group, the security personnel also recovered live cartridges along with other materials of the banned outfit from the possession of the accused.

Let us inform you that the Jharkhand police along with other paramilitary forces have been running a major counter-insurgency drive against the Ultras in the state lately, as a result not only the core Maoist zone like Budha Pahad has been declared a naxal free zone but these operations has also led to the arrest and surrender of several big names of the Maoist group.

Recently, in another such operation carried out by the forces last week a self-styled, sub-zonal commander of the banned CPI Maoist, Manoj Parahiya was also arrested from Garhwa district of Jharkhand.
