The controversies around the planning of Haryana’s Nuh violence are rising with every passing day. From the involvement of Islamists from Rajasthan to Rohingya Muslims, an audio clip is making rounds on the internet. In a viral audio, an Islamist can be heard instigating a mob to “Kill as many Hindus as possible”.

The audio has been shared by mainstream news channels like India Today. Sharing the audio on August 7, India Today wrote on Twitter, “Chilling audio reveals Nuh violence was pre-planned… Who is this rioter?”

As per India Today’s report, the audio went viral on a Mewat-based WhatsApp group after the violence. The audio has been shared by multiple media outlets on August 7.

In the audio, the person starts the conversation with ‘Assalam Walikum’ and instigates his community members to gather at the Shringar temple in Mewat on  August 31. He said there are 100-200 people, and at least 10-20 should be killed. He repeated, “Stop calling yourselves Mewati if you cannot attack 10-20 Hindus”.

Shringar Mandir is a Shiv Mandir located 45 minutes from Nuh (Nalhar) Shiv Mandir. The Jalabhishek Yatra was supposed to end at Shringar Mandir.

“Please tell me, is the land of Mewat full of cowards? 100-200 are there. Can’t we kill 10-20 of them? The way their vehicles were burnt, at least 10-20 of them should have been killed. Is Mewat wearing bangles? Whoever is there, come to Shringar Temple as soon as possible. Today is your chance. Even if you raise your hand, the same number of people will come. And even if you kill around 10-20 people, the same number of people will come. So today is the day. Everyone will die someday. If not today, then tomorrow,” said the man.

The second person in the audio said, “All the people who have joined this group, there are 10, 20, 50, 100-150, whatever they are, I request you all with folded hands. Whether they are people from the Memon’s group or a Saudi Arabia group, please distribute it amongst them. Today, you can love anything, whether it is your wife, child or even money. But one day, all of these will be left behind. Either the person you love will leave you, or you will leave them. Do not think that all of this will be there forever. When it is about our community, you have to stand fearlessly. Running away from a fight is cowardness. It is better if you wear bangles. Mewat is known as the land of Khuda. How can they [Hindus] leave from here safely? We can not sit peacefully until at least 20 of them are buried. Instead of making videos [on this issue], please do something about it. Save your community. If everyone is making videos, who will do the work?”

The identity of the person is yet to be revealed by the police. However, the India Today reporter pointed out that soon after the audio went viral, violence erupted near Shringar Mandir. The reporter also shared that India Today has accessed the videos where miscreants were seen attacking Hindus.

Notably, it has been claimed that the Haryana police have identified the man behind the audio clip and that he will soon be arrested.

The outsider’s role in the violence

On July 31, an Islamist mob pelted stones at a Hindu religious procession in Haryana’s Nuh district. The devotees gathered to attend the procession, which covered temples in the district. Many media reports have revealed that the attack was pre-planned, as the locals were angry over a cow vigilante joining the procession. The other trigger point is assumed to be the state government’s action against cow smugglers.

It is noteworthy that while searching documents relating to the violence, Organiser accessed as many as fifteen FIRs where the victims revealed the horrors of the day. Some said attackers were chanting Pakistan Zindabad and Allah Hu Akbar slogans.

In one such FIR, Organiser found that the miscreants who opened fire at the police officials and attacked them had their number plates from Rajasthan.

Readers should know that the region of Mewat, which takes its name after the dominant Meo jati, is spread across Nuh in Haryana, and Alwar and Bharatpur districts of Rajasthan, besides some parts of Uttar Pradesh such as Mathura. The Meo Jati, whose members claim Rajput ancestry, have almost been wholly Islamised. The region is a hub of crimes, the most prominent being cow slaughter, beef trade, and cyber fraud.

Apart from the preparations that were going on for days for the attack, the outsider’s role can also be tracked. The details in the statement confirm that the local Meo’s were not alone in the attack and were accompanied by people from Rajasthan.

Police arrested 25 Rohingya Muslims

In a massive crackdown against Islamists who attacked a Hindu religious procession in Haryana’s Nuh on July 31, the Haryana police arrested some Rohingya Muslims. The Superintendent of Police, Nuh,  Narender Bijarniya, told the media that, Rohingya refugees had illegally occupied lands in Haryana’s Nuh, and during the demolition drive, police found some of them were also involved in anti-Hindu violence.

SP Bijarniya said Rohingya refugees had illegally occupied the land of Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran in Tauru, due to which the demolition drive was carried out, but some of them have also been identified for pelting stones and being part of the mob during the July 31 violence.

“We have identified a list of them who were involved in the violence and we have evidence for it and based on it the teams have arrested them,” said Bijarniya while speaking with the Hindustan Times.

Nuh violence

Violence broke out after a procession of Hindu devotees was being taken out in Haryana’s only Muslim-majority district Nuh on 31 July. The procession, which involved visiting ancient temples in Mewat region after jalabhishek at Nalhar Shiv temple in Nuh, was organised by Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and Matrishakti Durgavahini. This year was the third edition of the yatra.

Police officials have confirmed the arrest of approximately 60 suspects in connection with this incident. Additionally, 10 cases related to social media activities have been registered. Moreover, the number of injured individuals in the Nuh violence has increased to 88. By August 4, 70 of these injured individuals had been identified.
