Eric Garcetti, US Ambassador to India, sang praises to India’s National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval on June 13.

Praising on Ajit Doval, Eric Garcetti lauded his vision for the country, and also compared it to the vision of US NSA Jake Sullivan.

“Ajit Doval, a village boy from Uttarakhand, who now has not become only a national treasure but an international treasure, who has had the same vision to come together and say what can we do to change the course of this century, to quote NSA Jake Sullivan, to take us forward,” Eric Garcetti said.

“India’s NSA has not only become a national treasure but an international treasure”, he said.

Garcetti made these remarks during a roundtable on “Advancing India-US Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET)” in the national capital.

Meanwhile, National Security Advisor of the US, who is on a two-day India visit, met his Indian counterpart Ajit

Doval on June 13 and discussed regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Jake Sullivan is accompanied by a delegation of senior US Government officials and leaders of US industry during his visit.

He said the foundation between both countries is very strong. “It is so clear that Indians love Americans and Americans love Indians. We have a genuine and natural warmth,” he said.

US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti showed immense faith in India-US relations.

Earlier, NSA Jake Sullivan said that US President Joe Biden is thrilled to see what is happening in India and to watch how things unfold.

“As we look ahead to the state visit that PM Modi will be embarking upon in Washington next week, a number of the deliverables at that visit are not just bullet points on a page, they are fundamentally designed to remove obstacles in defence and high-tech trades and in taking away obstacles that have stood in the way of better collaboration among our scientists and researchers,” he said.

Eric Garcetti also talked about his interactions with leaders in India. “I recently had a dinner with a bunch of multi-faith leaders here in India. We had Hindu and Sikh and Jain and Christian and Muslim.”

Quoting one of the remarks from his meeting with them, Garcetti said, “We here all this talk about 4G and 5G, even 6G, but here in India we have something more powerful, Guruji.”

As the listeners broke into laughter with this anecdote, Garcetti explained his takeaway from the remark, saying,”If we bring our values into this work and our intelligence to this work, we are an unstoppable work.”

NSA Jake Sullivan’s visit to Delhi, along with other US delegates, comes in the run-up to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming state visit to the US.
