Union Minister of State for Agriculture & Farmers’ Welfare Shobha Karandlaje says the Modi regime, which leads the nation to the top of the world, completes nine years in power, and Kerala is always on its priority. She was addressing a media conclave in Thiruvananthapuram on May 29 in connection with the 9th anniversary of the Modi Government. She narrated a list of the achievements of the Government. Minister blamed that the people of Kerala do not get the benefits of the Union Government’s welfare schemes. It is because the State Government does not provide the list of the beneficiaries and bank accounts details. Even though BJP does not have any MP or MLA from Kerala, the Union Government has not shown any discrimination towards the State. Because the party believes that all States equally deserve development.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister V Muraleedharan said Kerala Ministers’ allegation that the Centre ignores the State is an utter lie. On the same occasion, BJP Kerala State president K Surendran stated that the allegations of Kerala Ministers and some self-styled left intellectuals are not true and are deplorable. The Centre gives Kerala all sorts of grants and GST shares regularly sans any failure. Kerala Government which pushed the State into a debt trap, does not have any moral right to attack the Union Government, which works hard to make the country a great economic power. BJP’s mantra is “Development”. LDF regime’s style is to rename “Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana” to “Life Misssion” scheme; PWD Minister Mohammed Riyaz claims the Union Government’s national highway development as LDF Government’s project. K Surendran said that Keralites embrace Vande Bharat Express, which the Modi Government gifted as “Vishukkainettam” to the State during Vishu days. Great developments are taking place in the State on the railway front. When the national highway projects are complete, it will bring a sea change in the State’s image.

K Surendran added that thousands of people in the State got houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. During the COVID–19 period, State got central aids in the form of food grains and rice. Centre gave 5.44 crores of COVID vaccines free of cost. 37.5 lakh farmers get Rs 6,000 per year under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi. In this regard, Rs 1,598 crore was disbursed last year alone. Seventy-two lakhs of Keralites got free medical treatment under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Pradhan Mantri Bharatiya Jan Aushadhi Kendra centres have been opened for low-cost medicines and health services.
