Those who have grown up watching Bollywood films in India had a fictional portrayal of terrorists in mind. Some say these are common people like others, studying, earning and leading a normal life with a rugged past. While others, undergo functional training, are often exported to countries like Pakistan and Afghanistan and then they become this vicious human bomb to achieve ‘Jihad’.

Recently, the officers of the Madhya Pradesh, Anti Terror Squad (MP-ATS) arrested as many as 16 terrorists with links to organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir (HuT). The identities of these arrested terrorists are disturbing. It is so because the fantasies fed by Bollywood turn true.

The professions of these terrorists are Syed Danish Ali: Software Engineer, Yasir Khan: Gym Trainer, Syed Sami Rizvi: Teacher, Shah Rukh: Tailor, Misbahul Haque: Laborer, Shahid: Auto driver, Mehraj Ali: Computer Technician and Khalid Hussain: a teacher. With films like ‘The Kerala Story’ in place, people have started talking about grooming and brainwashing. What would have taken men from these professions to join HuT, remains a disturbing question.

Well, out of 16 terrorists, 11 were arrested from Madhya Pradesh and the rest from Telangana. Notably, Five suspects had married Hindu girls, with two of these men having converted to Islam only a few years prior. Before moving ahead let us take you through the life stories of some of the recent convertees.

A report by Navbharat Times revealed that 29-year-old Yasir Khan who was a gym trainer and a resident of the Shahjahanabad area of Bhopal is involved in ‘Love Jihad’. He had married a Hindu woman, converted her to Islam and made her follow Islamic customs.

Similarly, another one Mohammad Salim, arrested from Hyderabad Telangana was in touch with Yasir, as they both were supposed to lead the mission. Salim was a professor at  Deccan Medical College Hyderabad. The Hyderabad Chief Minister reportedly has shares in this college.

Mohammad Salim was a Hindu man who converted to Islam in 2010. His name was Saurabh Rajvaidya and he hails from the Berasia area of  Bhopal. Shockingly, till a few years back Salim was known as Saurabh Rajvaidya, the son of Bhopal-based retired Ayurveda doctor Dr Ashok Jain. Later, he converted to Islam. His parents and the community were against his conversion.

His parents alleged that Dr Kamal, a senior colleague of their son when he was teaching at a private college in Bhopal in early 2000, brainwashed him and converted him into “Salim”.

Later, in 2012, Saurabh’s wife also embraced Islam. Saurabh alias Salim first tried to get a conversion certificate in Bhopal but when his attempts failed he travelled to Maharashtra to procure the certificate. He then stayed in Hyderabad, where he worked as a professor in the Biotechnical Department of the Deccan College of Medical Sciences.

His hatred against the Hindusim was intensified so much so that Salim used to give provocative speeches and lectures to brainwash others to embrace Islam and join the terrorist organisation.

Mohammad Salim’s parents in Bhopal’s Berasiya area alleged that Dr Kamal, a senior colleague of their son when he was teaching at a private college in Bhopal in early 2000, brainwashed him and converted him into “Salim”.

“He is our only son among our five children. It was Dr Kamal only who brainwashed him to switch to Islam and the videos of controversial fundamentalist Islamic preacher Dr Zakir Naik further contributed to our son’s conversion to Islam,” his father said.

“We’re in no way against Islam but are proud of our religion and culture first and totally against that form of Islam which brainwashes people against our country. Since 2010, he started talking against our religion and culture and was never ready to hear anything about the Nabi (prophet). He even threatened to assault me once for opposing the beliefs of Nabi. Possibly, it was in 2011 or 2012 that an Islamist preacher from Barabanki made my son and daughter-in-law read the Islamic Kalima at an event in Bhopal and pronounced them later as converts to Islam,” his father said.

Like Saurabh, Abdul Rehman and Mohammad Abbas were also originally Hindus who were brainwashed into converting to Islam. Abdul Rehman, a resident of Odisha was Devi Prasad Panda before he converted to Islam. Similarly, Mohammad Abbas, a resident of Hyderabad was Bux Venu Kumar before he embraced Islam.

On May 15, the Madhya Pradesh state Home Minister, Dr Narottam Mishra said, The 16 persons arrested for their suspected links with Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT), a radical outfit, are a motley group of individuals including a professor and a gym trainer among others who were prima facie involved in love-jihad and religious conversions.

“Surprisingly, these persons involved in brainwashing are not normal ones. One of them is a professor, another is a gym trainer, while a third runs a coaching class…one of them is a software engineer and another is a software technician. Such types of people are involved in love jihad. They brainwash Hindu girls into marrying them. First Hindu men convert to Islam and later these girls are also converted,” said Mishra.

“Madhya Pradesh Police is a pesticide for jihadi cockroaches. A probe has revealed the religious conversion of seven people (arrested in the case). And those who brainwashed these men to convert to Islam,” said Mishra.

On the other hand, Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar said that Hyderabad has become a shelter for terrorists with the Majlis party providing support as one of the arrested Hizb ut-Tahrir (HuT) activists turning out to be an employee of Owaisi Hospital.

“What we have always been stating and feared is turning out to be true with the latest arrest of the most dangerous terrorists. Earlier, Majlis leader Asaduddin Owaisi had offered to help those living illegally, like Rohingyas, when they were arrested. He has gone a step further by providing shelter to terrorists from Pakistan and Bangladesh,” said Kumar.

Madhya Pradesh Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) on May 9, arrested as many as eleven members associated with the radical Islamic organisation Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT) from two different districts in the state.

As per a press release issued by Madhya Pradesh Police, the ATS team arrested ten members of HuT from Bhopal and one member from Chhindwara district. The team also recovered anti-national documents, technical equipment, radical literature and other materials from the arrested members of HuT.

Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HuT), the organization’s network has spread to more than 50 countries. More than 16 countries have already banned the organisation. This organization wishes to establish Islamic Shariah rule in place of a democratic governance system in India. To meet their nefarious agenda the organisation started working in bits and pieces in the state of Madhya Pradesh. The aim of the members of HuT was to propagate the idea of Islam among youth and prove to them that the current governance system is a failure and anti-Islamic. The members wanted to create a rebel group by injecting lies into their heads.
