Yogi Adityanath-led Uttar Pradesh Govt is preparing to tighten the noose on notorious criminals and their henchmen lodged in various prisons throughout the state.

This decision came after the killings of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf who were shot dead by three assailants on the night of April 15 in Prayagraj.

With the intention of attaching properties worth Rs 500 crore, the administration has already compiled a list of 61 mafias as their target.

It is believed that action can be taken against these criminals in the coming days.

The UP Police has compiled a list of 61 criminals for their crackdown on the liquor mafia, forest mafia, illicit sand mining, livestock smuggling and other organisations, according to Special DG Law and Order Prashant Kumar.
The following are the most dreaded mafias which are on the list:

Sudhakar Singh, Pratapgarh: He is a Sultanpur resident and the biggest smuggler of illegal liquor in Pratapgarh, Sultanpur and nearby districts. The cops seized illegal alcohol worth crores from his properties last year. Police have offered a one lakh rupee reward for the capture of Sudhakar Singh, and now he is incarcerated.

Guddu Singh, Kunda: Sanjay Pratap Singh, also known as Guddu Singh, is a liquor mafia currently residing in jail from Kunda in Pratapgarh. In the previous year, Hathigawa police recovered alcohol valued at roughly Rs 12 crore. Before this, authorities had conducted multiple searches and recovered alcohol from various locations. In each of these instances, Gaddu Singh’s name came forward.
