Guwahati: His ‘Karma’ strikes him back. Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said this on March 25, while commenting on the disqualification of Congress MP Rahul Gandhi from the Lok Sabha.

Chief Minister Sarma said Rahul Gandhi is paying for his arrogance. He thinks he is the supreme personality of this country above the law and parliament, and he has the right to hurt the pride of any community in India. Referring to the speech of Rahul Gandhi during the 2019 election in Karnataka, Chief Minister Dr Sarma asked how a leader of the party, which ruled the country for several decades, could insult the OBC community of the country by referring to them as fraud and thieves. This may be a sleep of the tongue and could happen to any politician.

But any Humble and gentle politician would offer an apology immediately after such mistakes. But it was the arrogance of Rahul Gandhi that he didn’t like to offer an apology in 4 years, Chief Minister Sarma said. He further said that this is purely a matter of the judiciary, and the judiciary took its time before pronouncing the final verdict. It is not that the judgement was passed hurriedly. And as a consequence of the verdict, he was disqualified from the Lok Sabha.

Again it was the result of his ‘Karma’. He trashed the ordinance brought by the then Dr Manmohan Singh against the disqualification verdict of the Supreme Court, Chief Minister Sarma added. Now the Congress party wants to make it political by blaming the BJP. If you are unsatisfied with the lower court verdict, the door is open, and you can move to the upper courts. And it is the arrogance of Rahul Gandhi that he didn’t offer an apology even after he pleaded guilty in court for insulting the OBC community of the country, said Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Meanwhile, Rahul Gandhi said on BJP’s demands for his apology- “My name is not Savarkar, it is Gandhi and Gandhi never offers apology”.
